How much direct sun for new seedlings?

Hi there

 

How much direct sun should new seedlings get outdoors? It's high 20's on average most days where I am and am uncertain if new seedlings should be getting direct or indirect sunlight, or a mixture of both in the early days.

I would recommend Full sunlight if possible .. If they are healthy and have water and nutes they will love it

Yeh, if they get full direct sunlight from day 1 they will be used to the harsh light straight away. If they get shaded light in the beginning you risk the seedling stretching to find more light, and it may also be burnt when moved to full sunlight later.

if they have been indoors under the fluoro

i like to harden them off 1st

i give em mornin sun then over 3 days i build it up so they eventually get full sun for the whole day on the 3rd

yeah full sun is the go

 

just make sure they have a good damp soil or medium the problem with that many hours of sunlight is it will dry out your medium quickly

At the temps you quote full sunlight ,high 30's-40's waaay different story , billpuffdaddy's idea would be better but once there established the plants will handle ultra-high temps if you keep the water up to them to the max then they will grow the legendary amounts that cannabis is claimed to grow at ,up to 6" a day ,you can almost see them grow
