"Mango buds" here in Oz in mid 90s

Recommended Posts

while my memory of mardigrass is sketchy at best :freak: i do remember your mango sativa "chip" buds that were extremely tasty :peace:

for some reason i dont remember seeing either of those cannaporn contender pics of that plant before now though :) could be the fact i just ate 25g worth of cannabutter in a slice, the first of 3 cones of scissor hash or the cs x cc buds im smoking atm which have made me forget seeing the pics in the first place :peace: incase you're wondering, im getting ready for an all you can eat buffet and thats a meal best served asap (as stoned as possible) :toke:

I grew a beautiful big mango satti at the end of 2005 ... the chamber was 2mtrs high and 2 mtrs wide .. even tho this plant was tied back and trained from seedling .. she was unstopable

(still have a supply of the seeds which came from weed grown around Mullimbimby ... and the flavour of the smoke and the smell of the buds was pure mango ... even tho she was a huge yeilding plant, I've smoked or given away all the buds now .... :) maybe a good time to try another in a bigger chamber

by the end of the grow which was my first, the mango moll was swallowing the lights completely and had taken over more than half the chamber .. it was fun :freak:

Mango Mol from my first grow

a pic of the satti chop also ...

Heya Aussies!

There are alot of different strains and genetic hybrids out there that can produce a mango type smell.

There is a lot of mango bud that used to float around due to large crops being grown up North Queensland.

Best mango I scored smoked up like an indica skunk... smelled of mangos tasted like mango.. nice bush.

I've grown a few buds that smell like mango when cured.. but whether they are actually mango or not is debatable.

ha notdave mango does come from thailand originaly. Well thats what ive reseached and been told about from old hippies who used to globe trot to sth east asia and other continents. I've been growing Mango for the past 5 or so years, I've been crossing it with other stains and coming up with some tasty ones. I got the origanal seeds from a bloke who also bought /sold pnds. he was a trucky who crossed the nullabour lots .But after all these years only a few will sprout out of about 20. All my mates are always wanting the imfamous "MANGO". I hope this has helped you out a bit .. see ya.

In the mid 90s i was lucky enough to get an oz of "mango buds", which to this day remains one of the sweetest smokes i've ever had, and the bag appeal was second to none. They were here in WA, dunno about other states tho, or where they were grown. I got it from a guy who used to get regular pounds so I'm assuming there was a fair bit of it going around at the time.

I dont suppose anybody might happen to know which strain it mightve been?

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Been doing a lot of reading, and thought I should say hello. Very busy atm sorting and sexing.

Hi Dave, I remember seeing a bit of the Mango in the Perth southern suberbs circa 96-98. The stuff I remember could not be mistaken for anything else other than Mango (without anyone telling you). The colour was orange like mango flesh. Kind of like white widow with orange hairs, but not like skunk with orange hairs. Buds also appeared 'fluffy whilst still being dense (confused yet?).

ps. I think 'Papaya' by Dutch Passion was called Mango b4 all the name changes.
