Fan's motor puts out a lot of heat

I decided to change the position of one of my fans last night when i noticed how hot it was in the middle where the motor is ... this seems quite inefficient - it may even be generating more heat than it cools !

 

Here's the fan, just as 12mm Sunon that i got from a hydroponics shop

Is this a problem with all fans? Ive never noticed any heat from small 25w desktop fans, but their motors are encased in plastic that doesnt touch the motor. I might take it apart tonight and see how it performs, and maybe just use the one 25w fan instead of several Sunons

the sunon fan in the link is 12volt and made from plastic the sunon fans u buy from hydroponic shops are 240v and made from metal they rev there tits off and yes the motor does get hot but its not a problem unless ur trying to vent a sealed box with no inlet

yeah mate they can get real hot , you should be able to smell it if its fucked.. when it happens you'll know what i mean...
