can any one help me get my lighting right

Recommended Posts

your lighting will depend greatly on room size...

Metal Halide... the footy shaped globes.. these are ultimately for vegetive growth.. the extra UV helps the plant to grow...

High Pressure Sodium the cigar shaped globes.. these are better for flowering growth.. as the reds and yellows are needed more so for this cycle...

now ultimately you would vege under the MH and ADD the HPS when you wish to flower... not always an option as heat and power consumption is much higher..

so what most if not all people will do is veg with the MH.. then switch over to the HPS for flowering...

now considering you may spend 3-4 weeks vegging.. and at least 8 weeks flowering... if you cant afford both globes.. just get a HPS kit... as it will veg suffiently and flower way better than a MH...

if your growing in a quare space then use a parabolic shade.. if your space is retangular use a bat wing shade...

ok, thats your light sorted...

now grow space...

400watt will do a space 1mx1m....

600watt will do a space of 1.2mx1.2

1000watt will do a space of 1.5x1.5

now these are basic room sizes.. theres no law saying they wont do a slightly larger area... or slightly smaller area...

a 400watt you will get away with a 200mm bathroom exhuast.. 250mm would be better

600 or 1000 watt will need a 250mm exhuast at the very least... this depends on room size ..as the bigger the light in a smaller area the more heat there will be...
