50 cd\dvd tubs used as humi cribs

A 50 cd tub used as a humi-crib for germaniting seedlings. Pic is attached. I will update progress. I am using rockwool.

 

 

EDIT: You can fit 5 per tub.

Do you think it needs a few holes?

top idea mate, and NO dont put any holes in them.

 

just make sure the cubes are kept moist and mist the covers.

if you can then put some heat under them like a homebrew heater or something.

 

the only concern i would have is that the seedlings may grow too big for them, and when you take them out could wilt.

Thanks Ferengi420, I have got them on top of my monitor atmo with a dark towel over them. At nite I put them in a draw that is constantly 20-22c

 

EDIT: I have got heaps of the 100 tub lids as well. As pictured.

Update since last post.

 

3 of the 6 'KC 33 X MASTER KUSH' have popped since my 1st post, they are in rockwool. its been nearly 48 hours since i planted them in the cubes.

 

I have got 8 'Shamen' in soil to show you the Humi Crib 100 Tubs in action on pots.

They have only been in the soil for 24 hours.

 

Ive got 9 'BIG BUD' in cubes aswell but only been in for nearly 24 hours or there abouts.

Being round tbh is a slight wase of space don't ya think?

 

It's space I have plenty of but still go square wheneber possible.

Update... 6 out of 6 of the KC33 X Master Kush germinated. I just put em into a 50\50 mix of terracotta tub pot mix (with all the green and white slow release ferts picked out) and seed raising mix. I hope the grodan cubes arent going to cause any stem probs in the soil. They in a semi shaded spot during the day and in a shed at nite(no light).

 

The Big Bud 6 of 9 have popped out of cubes.

 

I put 8 Shamen(Dutch Seeds) straight into seedling pot mix to see how it compares for germination.

 

I will update until the Shamen pop..
