Lava Rocks in Aus

I have been searching arround for some lava rocks all day but no luck. Anyone know where i can buy lava rocks in Sydney?

Look for "scoria" Bunnings has it down here in melbourne.

Yeah, i've heard somewhere that it's better than hydroton (expanded clay). Keep us posted on how it goes.

scoria kicks arse. Bunnings sell in 3.5 KG (called volcano rocks) bags for about 6 dollars each. A 20 litre bucket uses 4.5 bags.

 

Best stuff ever to grow in, heaps better than clay balls - because of the size and light weightlessness of the product which allows for heaps of air to pass into rootzone.

 

Only 1 problem it will take a few days to stabilze the ph befor you can start growing in it ,as it will raise the ph as all the little dust particles come out of it, once it is really clean though its stabile as.

 

Good for doing a krusty freedom bucket or growing indoor trees
