Eikel has upgraded his lights.

(Don't you hate people who refer to themselves in the 3rd person? B) )

2 x 600w HPS-Super SunMaster Bulbs.

2 x 600w HPS-Super JBL Ballasts.

These babies will be replacing the 400w warm-MH and 400w Super-HPS I currently have in my flower box.

I got a bargain at the store too, he gave me the bulbs/ballasts with 2 dozen rockwool cubes and free sticky-fly traps and a syringe for nute measurement - all for $380.

Sorry for the crappy pics - these were taken with my camera-phone.

Hey Fsagertyaef!

Thanks for the compliment, sorry to hear your escapade to get lights went so poorly. I look forward to seeing pics of your setup when you've got it up and running.

I upgraded to see if I will yield more, plus I noted that HPS light seems to produce MUCH more resin than MH light - not sure why this is.

I've installed the lights now, room temp runs 10deg hotter than it did with the 400's, as I'm now at 33 deg instead of 23 deg I think I'll have to switch my light-cycle to run at night.

Hey Eikel you should get some nice buds with those babys, good luck and keep us updated...

Thanks ozmade!

Ok, so I now run 2 x 600w HPS's in the main grow-box.

The 250wMH in the clone/veg setup now is my old 400wMH from the grow-box.

My old 400w HPS is going to a friend who wants to start growing his own.

My old 250w MH is going to an OzStoner member who is desperate for some decent lighting for his grow B)

Thanks Tom and Pure, I'm really keen on seeing how these guys perform compared to my last grow.

hey elkel , what are you going to do about the heat ?

i want to run a 600w vs 400w but he heat is worring me

Yeah Skyhigh, it's worrying me too mate :B):

I've seen my temps skyrocket under the new lights, the canopy-level is still cool enough to be comfortable, however with the current airflow my temps now averaging 37 deg instead of 25 deg.

Now, I'm not panicked because during my last grow which started during the end of summer, my plants tolerated 40+ deg days in the shed, but they drank a shitload more water than these plants that were grown in winter did.

My plan is to get another extraction fan and a Y-connector for ducting and to run it through my carbon filter. I'm also thinking of hooking up a small 100mm fan as an intake in addition to the current passive intakes.

I'm sure my current setup could easily cool a single 600w bulb (it took 2 x 400w's easy), but I'm figuring the extra fan will be needed under both 600w lights.

Forgot to mention, my grow box is 1.59w, 1.01d, 2.15h in metres.
