hey there, for those experienced in bho extraction, do you think you would like to have a suitable extraction device made from glass? ive been thinking about this idea for a while, and being a glassblower, have the ability to make them. ive heard of many materials such as metal and plastic being used for extractor devices, but i think that glass would probably be the healthiest choice, and the glass i work with, is borosilicate, so no worries on the temperature changes. is there any one with any opinions towards a decent usable size, or maybe have some tips towards a shape or design? hi from Canada ... cool board, just thought i would post this pic of this device i use ... works good ... can tell you where to check them out if interested (not sure on the policy of posting URLs) i have been making oil from ISO & just recently did the butane way with this cool device i bought and can tell you it is by far the best way to extract oil ... produces the sweetest honey oil i have ever smoked ..

hi great site have just been searching all week since i found it plenty of infomation well just made some oil yesterday anyways was just wondering what the normal amount of oil would be if you were to use 5 cans of butane and a few ozs of trim as this is all i ended up with is this right ?damn good smoke tho :mellow:

Hi guys, awesome site for starters, so much helpful info. I would like to start making THC oil because i really dont enjoy smoking bongs anymore (health risks, sick of it.) I have read that any amount of bud can be used. would 2 grams of broken up buds be sufficient for my first attempt of extraction ?? I dont want to go out and buy an ounce and fuck the whole process up first go. Id rather get it right with a smaller amount and work my way up. Also if i were to use a beer bottle for a first time attempt, or even a ss, copper or pvc pipe, how would i go about putting the coffee filter in without falling thru the pipe ?? I made a small amout of oil using the ISO method and was fairly satisfied with my results. However i am just a recreational consumer and buy maybe a quater a week. A friend of mine and i were talkin about throwin in and makin some butter, However i was wondering if instead we just used a quarter of average KB if it would be recommened and what out expected yeilds should be. If we do attemt it we will use the butane method however

How do you handle this Stuff ? I just made some abit short on butane but still got a gram or so. I still have alot on the dish,took the biggest part that I kept in one corner of the dish and put it on tin foil just scraped it up with a knife and pulled it off with the tin foil. Help

i tried to make some honey oil with about an ounce of weed, steel piping and newport beutane and its completly fucked up. :angry: all the beutanes evaperated and nothings left. so what went wrong?

gave this a try run today. First of all credit must go to Phife at Overgrow. Many of the information below I have just copied directly from him. this is what you need about 1.5 ounces of very dry, finely crumbled plant matter. I used a mixture of trim and bud. 2-3 250ml cans of Ventti butane refill - about $3.50 each at most smoke shops empty, washed out 330ml bottle of corona - I chose corona because it was taller and thinner, which is better for this coffee filters - couple bucks at supermarket rubber bands 3mm glass drill bit - about $12 from Bunnings glass/pyrex collection dish razor blade to scrape up oil safety goggles gloves/tea towel I like glass because …

Hey guys after doing my crop, or should I say, most of it, I have got 1 kilo of damp leaf left. I have made an extractor from all the great info. here and yes, I did use copper. Read too much about the PVC and its problems. Anyway, in the instructions I have read it calls for perfectly dry leaf. Can I get away with using the leaf like I have at present or do I have to dry it first?

Well guys I had to end up making the unit out of PVC as the copper way was too much for me. No tools to work with. Anyway this is 500mm long and 32mm diam. Just as well I had a heap of trim, just under a kilo. but when I dried it and crumbled it, it just filled the tube. Anyway off I went on my merry way to get the butane. It was like shopping for hens teeth. I tried 6 different stores before I found it. I did feel a bit guilty buying 2 cans but what the hell. As you can see in the pic, I just clamped the tube firmly into a vice and sat it on a ladder with an ashtray underneath. Has anyone ever tried this. It would probably work well since the butane is sloshing around the leaf etc. instead of it just flowing over it as in the normal method of extraction. if i made some honey oil with about 1/4 ounce of weed (and used a smaller extracter than usual) would it work as well as it would if i used an ounce?
