hey to send a MJ plant to flower, can i just change it from 18/6 to 12/12 ? i heard changing the light cycle to 12/12 will make it flower ? ta

Hey guys, just a quick one... I don't want to buy a separate 40W fluro just for the germination phase before the 400 watter comes in... can i just use ordinary 60W or so light bulbs or perhaps a 100W halogen lkamp I have here? What If i used the 400W HPS and just put it really far away from the seed?

Mornin' all I have been asking around and even my local hydro shop, Hydrocentre haven't come back to me with an answer and Scott and Natasha are pretty good when it comes to advice, so I guess I have stumped them. If you have an ozone gen and you know first hand I would really appreciate your help. I am having problems with positive pressure in my room due to a carbon filter on the end of my centrifugal exhaust. I am thinking of going with an ozone generator, but from everything I have heard you must run it, say for example, 15 mins on, 45 off. Hey guys, I am an absolute beginner to growing but anyway I want to grow 2 plants in a cupboard (haven't got one yet, maybe someone can recommend a decent size range?) and only want to use one light through the whole cycle cause i'm poor and don't want to spend too much since its my first grow... Basically people are saying 400W I think should be the go, 600 i'm thinking is maybe too much but the point being, which type, MH or HPS, and which lamps to last the whole cycle? I know everyone says use diff lights for veg and flowering but I'm just not prepared to go that far yet... So I want a definitive 'one size fits all' light.... if its even possible! hey everyone how ya doin. I went to lowes store and bought a spot gro light. Sylvanian 120v 120watt. i dont know if this is good for growing my little babies for a month or so just until it gets warm outside and i can transplant them. Does anyone know what type of bulb a spot gro bulb is? flourecent or what. is it ok for a month or so , thanks please someone let me know.

hey all if i used say 1 x 150w HID light, from germenating the seed, to harvest, would it be possible to make the plant for about 1 ft high, and get like 10 grams of bud ? let me know im very interested, though its a waste.. ta

hey all please dont go into technicle discussion about this.. all i want to know is.. i want to grow a MJ plant, but i want to make it more of an experiment as a first time grow, and it doesnt bother me how much bud i get, because i only need it to grow about 1 1/2 ft high, at max. anyway, i was wondering if i used 1 150watt HPS light.. would i be able to grow the MJ plant to about 1 foot high, and then put it on a 12/12 light period, and make it bud ? but keep it at about 1 - 1/12ft high ? also, what light time period should i have the plant on before 12/12 ? ta

hey does itmatter ifyou start off with a HID light or HPS light ? which is better ? i can get a 400w HPS light and fitting for about $50 shouldi buy it, and use it as the main light? also, if i had 2 150w HPS lights, woul;d i have them on 24/7 or 12/12 ? let me know about the 400w HPS too,would i leave it on 12/12 ? ta

Hey, What up people, I am new to growing and I was wondering what would be the best setup but least expensive for 2 plants? And can you switch a plant from soil to hydro? Right now I have 3 floruo's for vegitation and two fans 1 for sucking one for blowing. Any help would be very useful. Thanx Tonik

I'm researching materials to build a cool tube for my 600W HPS. I've found what appears to be the perfect material to base it on but am not sure how it will effect the light spectrum. I was at bunnings the other day and found what I think is polycarbonate sheet by Laserlite but thin and flexible, its on a roll and they cut it off by the meter. It looks completely transparent and would be perfect to build the cool tube out of but I think it has a 99% UV rating so I'm not sure if its going to filter out the lights plantly goodness? Does anybody know anything about how this material would effect the HPS light spectrum for growing under if I were to use it? Cheers...

Another question from my newbie self. I'm rigging up 4x PC fans for the ventilation on my grow-area. I have 2 x 32 CFM (Cubic-feet/min) and 2 x 42 CFM fans. The grow room dimensions are 2.5m x 2.5m x 2m - I've done the math and my fans should be able to cope with the room of this size (I think). My question is, do I setup the room with more intake than exhaust or vicea versa? I know ventiation is quite important and I'm under the impression exhaust should be greater than intake, especially when the using a carbon filter - am I correct? --Eikel.

Greetings friendly people... I'm just curious if anyone knows the difference between the Philips Son-T-Agro and the Son-T-Plus? I know the Agro doesn't (from my research) come in a 600W, and was thinking the 600W Plus is basically the same version of the Agro but in a higher wattage. I think I am wrong though. The Philips Lighting website is next to useless when it comes to finding information about their spectrums etc. They'll be under something like 'Highway Lighting' if you're interested, not a seperate horticultural section. Any help appreciated.

Hi all: I have a 400mh, and a 400hps hort. Instead of using just one to veg. would it hurt anything if I put them together and have 800w on them from start to finish or will this be better for the end result of more buds. :reallyexcited:
