UTAS is conducting research about the effects of cannabis on attention. The research requires that you go into the uni for a 2 hour experimental session where you wear a cap with electrodes on it that measures your brain acitity whilst doing some simple button pressing tasks on the computer. this research is for regular cannabis users, or people that used to be regular users but have since stopped. You are reimbursed $40 for your time, but you must go without cannabis and alcohol for 24 hours before you participate. call 0477 411 151 or email cannabisattention@gmail for more information.

Hi there. My name is Sally, and I am a researcher for the University of New South Wales. I am currently running a survey looking at health patterns of adults aged 40+ who use cannabis only, tobacco only, or both cannabis and tobacco (even if only for mixing). I am looking for adults aged 40+ who fall into the category below: Smoked cannabis on at least four days per week on average for at least the last 5 years AND have not smoked more than 100 tobacco cigarettes or equivalent (including mixing tobacco with cannabis) in the last 5 years. The survey will take around half an hour, and participants receive a $40 Coles Myer Group gift voucher for their time. If you fal…

well high fellow Oz Stoners, i was reading a few tweets today and came across this artical, regarding a u.s patent on cannabinoids, as we all know marijuana is class one drug, due to the lack of medicinal value. know in a huge back flip on them selves the u.s government has put a patent on 'cannabinoids' not the plant, so this means that only the u.s gov can sell marijuana as a mediciene.. im sure you will all find this fantastic reading as i did.. http://stopthedrugwar.org/speakeasy/2008/jul/23/significance_us_govt_cannabinoid enjoy the read, and ill catch ya in the chat room.. sirvapealot..

The chemical structure of tetrahyrdocannabinol (THC) was determined in 1964 by Raphael Mechoulam and Yechiel Gaoni. For more than three decades thereafter, its blatant psychoactivity induced scientists to define THC as the active ingredient in the plant. Experienced marijuana smokers who tried the drug Marinol (pure, synthetic THC) when it became prescribable in the mid-1980s, reported that the effects were noticeably dissimilar. But it wasn’t until the late 1990s that the research establishment acknowledged that another compound, cannabidiol (CBD), was exerting significant effects, too. In 1999 a British start-up, G.W. Pharmaceuticals, began clinical trials of a plan…

unlike all the other studies done about the effects of marijuana on drivers, this video clip i found at i-am-bored shows a UK test that got a person to drive a real car while under the influence on marijuana instead of playing a video game simulation suprisingly they find out that after the dry run, the guy does the test better stoned so on that basis alone this clip is more than worth watching, even if you are on 56k video clip from i-am-bored

The Orwellian fascists are getting desperate: They are offering $10,000 to disprove the 'myth' that Pot is safer than alcohol. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/10/group-offers-10000-disprove-marijuana-safer-alcohol-claim/ I'm sure some Ivy League professor who is 'top of their game' - based on the principle that shit floats to the top - will release to CNN their results based upon trials that don't mention other substances in their subjects systems, and claim the great Satan Marijuana plant is responsible for everything wrong in the world. Money truely does talk. Unfortunatley. And it truely is an Orwellian world. Black is white. Up is down. Wankers.

Hello CC, I am looking for some information pertaining to the use of Adderall prescribed by a doctor and the effects that ingesting cannabis while on these drugs can cause. Background information: I was diagnosed with a severe case of ADHD in my childhood and went from Ritalin to Concerta to Adderall XR so I have been medicated my whole life. I am currently prescribed 30MG daily. Any information with valid sources would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, dadude12345

So the latest one I heard, was from a friend of mine who was recently in a serious car accident. After being airlifted to the Cairns Base Hospital, the doctors wanted to give her pain control meds. She refused them saying that they didn't work for her & did nothing but make her feel nauseous. At some point after this she was approached by somebody on behalf of James Cook Uni. asking her if she wanted to participate in a study for the use of medical cannabis for pain relief. She tells me that they took her details & told her that they would be in contact in the near future. Very, very, interesting. Now I know stoners are good @ telling wild ones sometimes, but …

Hello everyone! I'm a new member and would like to say g'day and send a big thumbs up to everyone on this site. I pray that sometime in the near future our country will wake up, open a debate and make laws appropropriate to OUR country based on scientific evidence and not American propaganda from the 70's. Now I've just moved to Tassie and have talked to a few people and I am told that it is apparently ok (in that the police turn a blind eye) to cultivate two plants, providing it is for therapeutic use/pain relief. I close friend of mine also said he had two plants growing in his front yard, and the police had seen them and not acted on it. He told me that if you we…

There are alot of people claiming cannabis causes psychosis and belive this is the number1 reason it shouldn't be legalized. Some claim there is an 'epidemic' of mental illnesses and psychosis caused by cannabis. I'm not new to cannabis by any means and over the years I have known alot of people who use drugs, not just cannabis. It got me thinking. Of all these people (many would be classed at the top end of usage amounts and therefor the highest risk group) I can only think of 1 person who had any issues with cannabis. I had smoked cannabis with him for almost 5yrs and he had never had any problems with it. Then he went on a 6 month binge......any drug pret…
