Hi peoples, Having problems with 3 different timers turning on 600w HID. Was using hpm heavy duty first (came with the light package), the light stopped coming on after about a week. Replaced with a hpm cheapy one went on the first day and not the next. Just tried the old hpm pin type this doesnt work either. I spoke to the hydroshop and they told me I needed a digital one. Is anyone using a 600w lamp with a hpm heavy duty timer, Im sure this should work, otherwise why would they sell it to me in the lighting package? Any suggestions? PS Great site great info, Ive been lurking in the background for years smiles

hey you know thoeslittle 80mm computer fans ? can get them off ebay for like $5. i was wondering what othercomponentsdoyou need tomake that fan run ? could i use that fan as an intake/exhaust for my grow room ?(im using half a cupboard) how would i get it to work ? ta

Whats the max power in Watts that one could run without being too suss with the electricity company? I know of one person running a setup with 6x 600w's at the moment, and Im thinking of setting up 4. Its all for personal medicinal use, as I just want to have one grow per year, then I dont have to attend to the crop everyday and I can go away and out at night without worrying. Also, where would 'the line' be drawn between commercial and personal... I have a valid genuine medical reason to smoke it, as the other meds Im suppose to be taking are just making me drowsy all day long.

hey all.. just as the topic says.. is a mirror good to use instead of a reflective film in a good room ? does it reflect the light good ? because i can completly surround my grow room with mirrors cause i have so much thanks

hey all, i have this tanning lamp that i use for screen printing, i was just wondering if it could be used in a small cupboard growing setup??? the model is "sanolux" and is manufactured my Radium... -300 watt -lifetime 1000 hours -UVA Radiation power (315-400 nm) in W is 5,1 -UVB Radiation power in W is 2,2 this light only cost $80AU new, and doesn't require any extra controlling gear, all you need is a screw in light bulb holder with lead, and it hardly takes up any space! all advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys

hey all i was wondering what a carbon filter is, and what exactly it does ? does it remove the smell from your grow room ? what about a ozone generator ? does the carbon filter add onto the ducting of your exhaust fans ? does it make much noice ? ta

I can get my hands on some glass tubes: 400mm(L) x 150mm(diam) with 3mm wall thickness. Perfect for making up cool tubes for HPS lighting. Just slap a sunon 240v fan and some ducting. If anyone is interested let me know asap and I will see what I can do. The cost will be about $125 each - not cheap but cheaper than what you can but them for in the hydro shop. These are glass and not acrylic or polycarbonate that will go yellow or craze after some usage. Cheers.

hey is 600w good enough for a 6 plant water farm, each bucket is 30cm long, meaning the grow area is about 185cm in length and the normal width of a wardrobe.. <-- thoes sizes are for the are the plants are in. if i had reflective film around the whole grow room, would it be enough for thoes 6 plants ? whats the best reflective film around ? ta P.S - also is this system cycle good :- 3 weeks in clone chamber untill rockwool cube is full of roots chuck into veg stage for 4 weeks, under 18/6 then into flower for 8 weeks.. after 4 weeks how big will the plants be ? the bigger the better right ? would an extra 10-15cm taller plant yeild more ? ta

do you guys think it would be possible to do a 1000w hps in a wardrobe if it had an aircooled reflector and decent cabinet ventilation ? it would be in perth in a garage so things might get hot in summer , perhaps just in winter and leave it on a 12-12 cycle during night hours ? then switch to a 400w normal reflector setup in the summer months . would this be advantageous if it would work in terms of yield ? im only asked cause I got a 1000w hps already that I have never used bought for a room grow . but I have to do a stealth wardrobe in the garage this time , no other option .

Hey guys, I just noticed at hydrocentre they sell MH globes to suit a HPS lamp (which I have) Would it be a good idea to buy one of these for the moment while my plants are still in veg phase? they are $75

I need an inline fan, probably around 150mm but it has to be quiet and still suck a decent amount of air. Can anyone recommend a brand model? Hopefully something thats not overly expensive? Its for a closet with a 600w HPS in it so it needs to suck out a bit of heat! Cheers,

hey all last 2 hrs ive searched this forum, google, yahoo and ive only been able to come up with one site on how i can figure out my lighting cost. and it was un UK money so it didnt help. just wondering if someone can give me a linkto a site that i can figure out my monthly lighting cost on, or just the mathematical equation to figure it out. thanks all
