Only 2.2% of the subscribers on this e-mail list donated to MPP or the Colorado campaign this year, and unfortunately, you weren’t one of …

They said the federal government could sue to block parts of the measures or send threatening letters to marijuana shops, followed ... View the full article

http://safeaccessnow.org/img/original/banner-2011-email.jpgDear Friend, Last night was a good night for medical cannabis patients and advocates. The voters in Massachusetts overwhelmingly approved a compassionate use law, bringing the total number of medical cannabis states to eighteen plus the District of Columbia! The results for Congress were especially positive for our movement. 90% of our Congressional champions were reelected. We are excited to welcome medical cannabis supporters Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) to the Senate. Fresh faces in the House and Senate mean that new champions of the cause can emerge, and Americans for Safe Access (ASA) …

Surprisingly, it probably wasn’t Barack Obama’s reelection. The most important things happened in Colorado and Washington. Voters in both states dramatically scaled back marijuana prohibition. If oregon had also voted to legalise marijuana then the mexican drug cartels might have lost 20% of their profits or over a billion dollars US. Even with only washington and colorado voting for legalisation the market is diminished plenty enough to hurt those mexican crime lords. http://www.opposingviews.com/i/politics/how-much-would-legalizing-marijuana-one-or-more-us-states-hurt-mexican-gangsters Especially if and when pot gets supplied cheaply by those two states to the rest of america.
