SIMON Crean may have attended university during the swinging sixties but the Federal Opposition leader says he did not smoke pot. Unlike former United States president Bill Clinton - who once confessed to smoking marijuana but not inhaling it - the Monash University graduate did not experiment with the drug. Speaking in support of a NSW trial using cannabis for the treatment of chronic pain, Mr Crean said his asthma, which almost killed him as a young boy, had prevented him from smoking. Asked directly if he had ever used cannabis, Mr Crean replied: "No I haven't. I'm an asthmatic. "I always had an aversion, and still do, to any form of smoke." However, the oppo…

The first notice was issued under the Territory Government's tough new anti-drug laws. Police stressed the business had received only one of three notices needed to start court proceedings to have it declared a drug house. Once a property is declared a drug house an irridescent green notice is posted outside. The Northern Territory News has obtained figures that show since April 17, about 464g of cannabis and 143g of amphetamines have been seized by police from suspected drug houses across the NT. Four people have b…

Justice Minister Donner demands Dutch coffeeshops to discriminate. Dutch coffeeshops have been popular since they opened, in the early seventies, and not only with the local population, they have also been frequented by foreigners from all parts of the world, from the day the first coffeeshop opened. The first dealer in Amsterdam’s first coffeeshop, the Mellow yellow, was a Briton, serving hash and grass for years, to an international public, in the heydays of the hippie era. Amsterdam was and is the Mecca of Marihuana, with about 200 of Holland’s 800 coffeeshops within its city limits, for every cannabis user of the world, from Iceland to New Caledonia. Many millions o…

A strange aspect of the mull culture is that a freind of mine whom has been buying about $100 a fortnight for pain cause by the myriad of diseases brought on by AIDS does not want to risk placing some plants inside under lights. I was amazed as I had offered to supply the lights and seed stock for free. The reason being is that she considers cultivation so illegal so refuses to risk it EVEN THOUGH she has less than five years to live. I have argued with her that with her disease she would be more than justified in growing it inside and wouldn't attrack any flak from the system. How do I convince the masses of mullers that indoor crops are not so bad? Hydro DOES NOT affect…
