Source: StoptheDrugWar.org Copyright: 2008 StoptheDrugWar.org Contact: drcnet@drcnet.org Website: BMW and Mercedes Use Hemp in Their Cars | Stop the Drug War (DRCNet) Remind me why hemp is illegal to grow in the U.S.: if you drive a BMW or a Mercedes Benz, or wear Armani jeans or Patagonia shirts, you could be consuming hemp. If you use these products, you won’t be jailed for possession. But would-be hemp farmers’ fear of arrest is what keeps the U.S. importing the stuff instead of growing its…

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/natio...f-1225795565468 Wonder if Alan researched how many suicides there were before the Alcohol ban discussed in his story, be interesting to see. I feel sorry for the poor buggers in these communities. They're pawns for the media/government anti-cannabis agenda now.

WEDNESDAY, April 1 (HealthDay News) -- New research out of Spain suggests that THC -- the active ingredient in marijuana -- appears to prompt the death of brain cancer cells. The finding is based on work with mice designed to carry human cancer tumors, as well as from an analysis of THC's impact on tumor cells extracted from two patients coping with a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. Explaining that the introduction of THC into the brain triggers a cellular self-digestion process known as "autophagy," study co-author Guillermo Velasco said his team has isolated the specific pathway by which this process unfolds, and noted that it appears "to kill cancer cells, …

Bong Water Is Now A Crime permalink The Minnesota Supreme Court, in a 4-3 decision, has now ruled that Bong Water (water which had been used in a water pipe) was a “mixture” of “25 grams or more” supporting a criminal conviction for Controlled Substance crime in the first degree. The crime is the most serious felony drug crime in Minnesota, with a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison for a first offense. The case is Minnesota v Peck, A08-579, Minnesota Supreme Court, October 22, 2009. The majority opinion takes a literal view, arguing in essence that any amount of a substance dissolved in water makes that water a “mixture” containing that substance. Perhaps. But, sin…

yumasun.com 24 December 2008 Howard Fischer Capitol Media Services Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Terry Goddard said he might be willing to consider legalizing marijuana if a way can be found to control its distribution - and figure out who has been smoking it. Goddard said marijuana sales make up 75 percent of the money that Mexican cartels use for the other operations, including smuggling other drugs and fighting the army and police in that country. He said that makes fighting drug distribution here important to cut off that cash. He acknowledged those profits could be slashed if possession of marijuana were not a crime in Arizona. But Goddard said a number of …
