I've been knocked of the Oz stoners and the net about 10 times tonight and i have to reconnect again, sometimes it does this when people are trying to call through on the phone, but that's not the case this time. Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause this all of a sudden?

I keep getting a strange effect on my pc, where it changes my internet settings. It makes it so when I start up the pc, and open internet explorer, it tells me I haven't got a connection! Then I open internet tools, connections, and my connection box is ticked as "never dial a connection" instead of the normal "always dial a connection"... why does this keep switching back to the never dial one every now and again....? It's an easy fix of course, but it's really got me stumped as to what might be doing it... I recently installed ICQ, but I'm not sure if this is the culprit... if anyone can advise me on why my computer doesn't want me to connect out to the internet, pl…

I thought I'd put some links in here, I noticed that there has been a bit of confusion in regards to hacking and security. :: The first is actually a chat log that I think is a pretty good example of not being switched on........ Chat Log - example of a lamer..... Now, if you want to find out about hacking, but aren't sure where to go-Progenic You can take your pick, although I used to haunt a site called 'smart hack', the guy who runs it is melbourne based I think, bass99. Pretty good tools and tutorials. Also, hackology.com I like to follow, they bring out some pretty interesting stuff............ Most hacking attempts are just script kiddies, or newbies armed with…

We will not be providing the CLI information to any third parties except where required to do so by law. The most obvious example of this case is when police suspect a crime has been committed or that an account has been "hacked" and is being used by someone other than its real owner. By producing the required legal paperwork, the police can ask us to provide CLI data for them to track the physical address from which the call to Bigpond was made. The whole purpose of this is to make the internet a safer and more pleasant place for you, our favourite users Segment of email sent by internet service provider.

Theo ther day I logged onto here from someone else's computer, and windows has recorded what I typed in terms of my username and password. I've sinced changed my password but the fact that I typed in "pipeman" as the name is still there. Now I deleted history, cookies and temporary internet files, but say this person sees that someone has visited www.ozstoners.com somehow, (from their ISP or something or maybe some other tracking software on their computer) they simply click the box on the log in page and see someone has typed in pipeman. Now if I'm the only other person to have used that computer they now know who pipeman is. So, my question is, is there a way to d…

Ive been using Nero and then Clone Cd to backup :: my cds, games etc....and have been pointed to this prog which runs better than clone cd for doing this. Instead of burning cds you load the cd into your hdd then copy the image of the game and then mount the image and it runs it like the cd is in there.... I thought it quite clever and saves the odd dollar or ten if you play a lot of games like me Just finsihed playing C&C Generals....now playing Duke Nukem Manhatten Project and Empire Earth.... Note that it is better to find the cd copy protections before backing up your cd....you can do this using clony xxl...or go to this list... http://www.petemoore.pwp.…

generally, if your gonna be concerned about having your machine turned into a zombie or sumthin nasty happening then you should worried only if you have a broadband connection, 56k dialups aren't usually bothered with any more as its far easier to crack broadband connections these days, they offer much better/faster access to your computer and net etc... you must have a firewall if you have broadband... look into using linux if your technical and paranoid minded... I can offer limited linux advice ( I don't use it but know alot about it)... look into a "port monitor" or port sentry or port sniffer...something that monitors port scans/ connections/ requests etc.... as…
