uxins, cytokinins and gibberellins are the principle growth-promoting hormones found in plants. All three control, stimulate, inhibit or alter a plant's development to one degree or another, depending upon the external environment. Auxins tend to promote rooting, leaf and fruit retention and directional growth; and cytokinins promote active cell mitosis, ion transport and general plant vigour. Gibberellins are noted as the most powerful of the growth promotors because they , increase internode spacing, induce and promote flowering in many plants, and modify the flower sex expression in some plants. Investigations in Japan in the 1920's of the pathogenic rice fungus Gibber…

Hello Oz Stoners ! This is my first post here , I'll try to be to the point. I'm growing in the Nortern hemisphere at 48 Latitude, outdoors, very close to the sea.The patch is three years in the same place,in full sun,big holes full of potting mix ,seaweed and dynamic lifter, irrigated from the house. The strain is 100% Indica,so usually they should'nt get too tall, but I've got neighbours very close so a 2m plant is way too tall. I think training is the ideal method of keeping a plant low ,but because of the neighbours I can't visit my girls often, they're al…

hello Everyone, and anyone. I am going to try growing for the first time, and want to get some input form those that know. I want to grow somthing like 4 plants indoors. I am going to make a box out of cardboard (try to make no light come out as much as possible), line it with foil. I have a 500w halogen floodlight, but it gets very hot. What I would like to know is how tall should I make the box, and what's the min distance should I keep the top of the plants from the light. And, is 4 plants enough, too much for this light. How many fans do I need. Also, can I just use regular fans that I can get at any store? and should I just blow the fan at the light to cool…

just been thinking about the final flush b4 harvest, why do we use ph adjusted water when flushing? I thought the idea of PH control was to alow the plant to uptake nutes when the PH is in the corect range. So when flushing why adjust the PH when we dont want the plant to take up any more nutes, I would think the plant would take up the water within not to extreme PH range without adjustment. any thoughts or experience?

Hey guys, I've now got a digital ph meter and it turns out i've been giving my plants pH 6.0 water... Obviously I want to change this to 6.3-6.5 as soon as possible (soil mix, hand watered). I read on overgrow that if you change the ph too quickly it can shock the plants... is 6.0 to 6.4 in one go too large a jump? If so, how would you recommend I go about it? is 6.4 the ideal ph for incoming water? I'm going to do a full flush tonight, and I'd like it to be precise Thanks!
