You can get the Volcano off e-bay for around $700 . But a cheaper way of doing it is to buy the Volcano valve set(around $250) and buy a good heatgun($140 + ) . And it works exactly the same with the heatgun replacing the cano base unit & saving yourself $300 + . The Valloon uses the same system . And gets the same result , vapor in a bag .

Niall , could you please let me know what are the best temps. to use with the Steinel heatgun . I have heard that 180 - 200 degress Celsius . Is this right ?

Yep, 180-200 is about right. With the Valloon I take it right down to 160-170 - my preference isn't for thick, harsh vapour I like to take it nice and slow over a few bags instead of one harsh bag. With the VWT I keep it about 180-190 as each hit isn't in contact with the herb for as long as the Valloon. I used to set it to 200 but you do get some smoke at this temp, and temps tend to rise slightly when they're attached to the VCB.

Have a play yourself and see what you prefer. Start high so you're getting a good hit and don't feel like you've bought a dud, then work your way down to lower temperatures as your technique improves. But you may prefer thick, harsh vapour, each to their own :D

Ordered a Volcano Valve Set & it arrived today . And let me tell you this thing rocks with my Steinel heatgun . It's so simple to use . And it really blows you away . Got it from Leigh at freewheelin.com & it got to me in 2 days. You can't beat that . He's also a really nice guy - very knowledgable . Have been vapin at 190 degrees Celsius & it's been great . Not too thin or too thick . Really , really light on the lungs . I also got an attachment that he makes himself , which is a jar sort of bong & the balloon sits on top of the glass cone and stem & you suck through a glass mouthpiece to get water filtration , to soothe your throat . All in all it was a very worthwhile investment . Can't wait for my Valloon to arrive , so that i can compare the two .

I've been using a Vriptech unit with Makita (rebadged Steinel) heatgun for about 1 year now and I absolutely love it. I admit I still smoke a few times a week but 90% of my intake is vapped and I've noticed massive improvement in the health of my lungs.

I've drooled over the Volcano for even longer than I owned the Vrip but I still haven't saved the dosh for it. It's on the list tho. :reallyexcited:
