A couple of months ago I asked my GP about obtaining cannabis to treat my ongoing symptoms.

"Ohh ahhh, I don't know anything about the processes, I wouldn't know where to start..."

Being that I'm in SA and there being no clinic's here (our state Gov't (Liberal) still have their heads buried firmly up their own arses)  I thought the whole process would be a waste of time

I went investigating and found a clinic in NSW, who would go through the whole process online.

 

So after a couple of weeks of paperwork both from myself and my GP, today I got the call from the clinic and have had the initial approval.

I now have to obtain the approval from the TGA but from what I've been told this should not be a problem and should take less than a week.

The Dr I spoke to has told me that what he would be prescribing is a CBD and THC combination as my situation is pain related.

I asked the Dr about the cost of the medication itself as it is NOT on the PBS and I have to say it is NOT cheap.

The Dr himself would not actually tell me a defined cost but advised me to call the chemist in Victoria.

Upon doing so I was told $270/50ml + postage ($30), so $300 delivered. First thought "Fuck, it'd be cheaper to go buy an ounce" but have decided to follow through with the process.

 

At this point I have not been told of the recommended dosages, so how long that 50ml is going to last I am unsure.

I am also unsure if I may be able to get my local chemist to get it in for me or whether it needs to come from an approved compounding chemist, solely in Victoria.

 

So the processes have been started. The dr and the prepaid TGA approvals have cost me $550 so far (that's without the script itself), so let's see how much more it's gonna cost

When I have any further info I will let you all know.

I have heard of one patient who got busted with a grow, but I'm not sure of the consequences. I think the consequences would be on an individual basis. I had one of those 'unwanted visits' from da coppers and the younger was a right prick. He wanted to throw the book at me, luckily for me his sergeant told him to pull his head in (Ohh did he sulk ) But you get the wrong cop on the wrong day and they can be real nasty.

 

Years ago we had a judge here who was known as the 'Hanging judge', any drug offence and he'd hang you by you left testicle from a great height.  I doubt even having a prescription would have swayed him in his day, especially when he was in full flight. Just having a baggie and a pipe was enough for him to throw the book at ya, just to 'teach you a lesson'. He was a real kunt. A while back he, himself, got busted in the centre of a big pedo ring. See, what goes around comes around and it smacked him in the face BIGTIME. His 'state sponsored holiday' of 25yrs (cut to 18) was mostly in isolation and protective custody I believe. In general pop someone would have killed him for sure.

 

It only takes one person along the custodial chain to get the shits with the world and you can find yourself up to your eyeballs in crap. I'd suggest that'd be the same with or without a script.

P.S. '....rationality and compassion from our legal system...' When?? Where?? Bugger I missed that, as it flew by lightning speed. I think you've got more chance of finding unicorn shit myself. I worked around the outside edges of the system for many years, picking up the pieces, supporting people going to court and that  '....rationality and compassion...' Ohh that's a rare thing sometimes.

Hi Merl hows it going mate.I have had a f~@#$%&*k up with my script for the floss, I am still waiting on TGA , for the go ahead for script.

 

One thing I would like to know is could you let me know what kindda price I will be looking at for the floss,the floss is the same brand as you use mate.

I just received my latest script and the mrs wants me to biff all of these empty containers. 'No, No, No... Keep 'em all.' I've got a drawer full now lol

That word 'Flos' (seemingly) comes from Latin, meaning flower or best part/kind or the prime. I've noticed lately that some sites are calling it 'Floss'. I've only known floss to be dental or the arse string of a G-String (P.S. I wouldn't be smoking either of those )

My pharmacy tells me they have "reduced" the price of bedrocan to $135 per 5g plus postage.

Thats $27 a gram here compared to as low as $5 a gram in Europe.

 

Really medical cannabis patients should all be allowed to grow their own medicine given its price gouged so badly.

Ohh Micmac, you are correct I do have to stretch it out BUT, I'm using it more as a medication, so it's (Sort of) measured out rather than just sitting down and having a session.

When I was a bit younger, like most of us, I was a bong pig. Let's just say I've mellowed somewhat

The 5gms is for one month and I 'try' to keep that constant (+ or - a bit of my stash or hash or ...)
