Newbudgrower
While clipping onto net for lst, I must have been a bit too hard, and I noticed I snapped a stem. Not all way thru, about half.Don't want to lose part of it.Do I just leave it n let nature fix, or what do others do in this situation? merl1n
It really depends on what you call 'snapped'The woody part of the stem is merely for strength to hold the plant upright, it provides no nutritional value at all.The phloem or the green outer layer of the stem is the plants feed route, if that has been severed then the bud will die. When I say 'severed' I mean completely. It can be split, and that's OK, but when the green has been stripped from the stem fully, nothing can get through to feed the bud.So, in short, so long as the phloem is still connected all should be fine. Newbudgrower
Just got back n had look, it had wilted pretty bad. I selotaped it back together to support it, under the selotaped section you wouldn't know it was split, fingers crossed.I'll know in a couple hours as she responds pretty quick if needs a drink.
