Explosive growth wanted? You need to bubble your water, right?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I read these words today;

If you want to see explosive growth then you will also need to bubble your water. To do this just use an aquarium air pump and air stone. You place the stone in the water and allow bubbles to pas through it. The water should be bubbled for at least 12 hrs.

By bubbling the water you allow oxygen to be dissolved in the water which is highly beneficial for the roots.

The concept is simple and seems to be worth looking into more. I was wondering has anyone done this. This meaning bubbled the water for 12 hours before adding to plants. Can you say there was any explosive** growth as the article noted

Cheers

Yes Dieter

I grow in a recirc setup and you do need to use an airpump with an airstone in your fluids and not just a bubbler. For the air to be able to be absorbed by the air roots the bubbles need to be tiny, microscopic tiny. A bubbler will put bubbles in the water but these are way too big for the plant to use. You need an airstone to make them small enough for the plant to use. I set all my system up prior to planting my seedling, which is already established in a rockwool cube, into my primary growing pot. My system runs for 12+hrs to check for leaks, etc prior to final planting.
