I had some basil under my 600w hps (companion planting basil is said to increase oil production of neighbouring plants) it loved it!!

Sweet Jester, just watch the nutes... basil doesn't need much in the way feeding.

Plenty of people grow cannabis under lights and it will grow like crazy outside too. Basil actually requires more bright lighting on a daily basis than cannabis.

It's the shortening days more than the heat... nip the tops off to prevent flowering.
