That's it... only a muppet would add a huge power bill to your overheads if it was legal to do it out in the open and gave a better light supply. I can't understand these yankee growers still doing it indoors. Year round production is the only upside, but if you do it like some you'd only have to work half a year... time off is always nice. Like this guy.

As ive been into reef aquariums for many years its been interesting to see the mindset shift when it comes to growing live corals. First it was metal halides and they couldnt be convinced to change to t5 fluro, then they changed and couldnt be convinced to go leds. Yep, u guessed it, most are using led technology but it must be noted not all leds are made equal. Cheap chinese lights pumped out of their factories used inferior chips and their wiring was that bad u were asking for ur house to burn down. Seems like a similar topic on OzStoners
