Hi all new here and keen to grow my first plant.

Recommended Posts

Billygoat, great idea... Msg me via the website and Ill give anyone coming from this thread a discount code for sure. Unfortunately due to the illegal nature of the plant, no I cant show you photos lol, I wish. I just have to wait for the word of mouth to get out and results to come back. Ive been doing this for years and have stacks of feedback, people have been blown away by the results. No till methodology and recycling used soil is where its at too... Use your own castings and compost where u can, minimal amendment additions and let biology and the plant do their thing... They know what to do.

You should start an introduction thread mate... I am sure you will drum up a bit of business... was only discussing No till gardening last night in chat..  :)

And yes, a properly constructed nutrient dense, living organic soil will grow a plant to full maturity with water only provided the grower uses the right watering practices and provides optimal growing conditions. Re amend between harvests with worm castings and a cup of organic amendments, mulch... And away u go.

Commercially speaking,  which ingredients are the most difficult or expensive for you to source in large or consistent quantities ?

Excellent question. We have bulk inputs locked down, however certain raw amendments can be tricky to get at the right price... Australia are a little behind the times in this regard. In the US, every waste stream is organised and sorted... Raw materials are packaged into valuable organic nutrients for cultivators. Here, there are much less regulations around waste management so producers either hold onto their waste resource (crab meal, oyster shells etc) until they can sell for an exhorbitant fee... However its getting better with new interest in environmental sustainability. We have good sources for our inputs but it took a few years to get them all at the right price.
