New HPS

Checked this morning and found my HPS 400w had blown sometime over the last 24hrs. Quickly threw my trusty viparspectra in.

I only use my HPS for flower, always Led for Veg.

Any good recommendation for a hps brand only good for flower? I don't want a full spectrum as my Led covers veg (keeps them short and bushy I noticed).

Gavita are the best HPS imo.

 

They are duel spectrum but are the best for flowering, i always swore by the SUN-T until i used the gavita...

hey mlg, can i ask what ballast u use?

Sure, it's a black line digital ballast. Got a 150, 250, 400, and "super lumen" setting. I just set it at 400w. This super lumen, not sure what it's about but sounds like it would push the globe beyond its capabilities.

BTW.. I'm a real novice still so don't go taking advice from me on equipment Only do a max of 2 plants for personal.

Run mine on super setting or whatever it is all the time, bit more heat to deal with about only issue

Sure it probably reduces light life expectancy, but who cares will more than pay for itself
