Planting with moon phases

This came up in another topic but thought I might share separately. It may be a kind of old wives tale but I plant my seeds by the moon and also try and harvest by it. I plant and try and harvest during the first quarter as for the reasons explained in the link. I'm a outdoors grower but I'm assuming it would also apply to hydroponics. It may be a myth but if it has any advantage I'm willing to give it a try.

When growing outdoors I always planted under a full moon , harvest when no moon

6 to 8 moon cycles I think for a plant grow to maturity

An old mate has sworn by this theory over the years, but I can't say I've noticed and difference compared to other growers.

 

The Weather and the Seasons seems to still hold the most bearing on how it turns out for most outdoors.

1 moon cycle equals 1 month if i remember correctly. Seems i may be on track if these new seeds sprout within the next few days. Then 1-2 months in small pots before going outside.

as mentioned in that other post gardening by the moon cycles has been heavily adopted 

by Steiner's biodynamic farming method of growing , they take it to another level from just starting seeds 

or harvesting by the moon , they fertilize , run there ipm , re-inoculate almost everything via the 

moon cycles

Never heard of this but it is very Interesting considering I'm a keen fisherman. Al Murray quote "The moon should be left to it's business of high tides, ware wolves and periods, anyone who can explain to me the actual difference between them last two.... "

Ware wolves change at full moon and according to legend full moon can trigger a females cycle with it/ period mood swings
