i had a bluelab ph pen, worked well never had any ph issues since getting it, solutions for storage and Calitration are relatively cheap and yeh you do a 2 step calibration with a ph 4 and 7 solution... i dropped my bluelab ph meter on the weekend and it broke

Can I ask how often you calibrated and when you did was it off by much?

just once a month, i think when it needed re calibration it was out by 0.3 roughly

Ok, so this was interesting. Ebay pen read 7 buffer at 7.1 and exy one at 7.3. Exy one was factory calibrated at 7 apparently.

One more “test” in about 2 weeks but I’m slowly starting to think it may be just worth getting a cheapie and calibrating regularly and keeping it in a bit of storage solution when not in use.

get  some ph drops & test against  each other , 

if  your  worried  about  .03 difference ,   your getting  to  fussy

your  RO  is  more important ,  do u  test it ??  u might  be putting  6 ph in  the  top ,  but  whats  coming  out  the  bottom
