what size grow tent should i get ?

Yeah what naycha said.  2.9 x 2.9 is approx the size of an average spare room. I am not sure what brand i have, its cheap and does the job. Got in a kit but probably cost little over $100..

 

2x2m on ebay for about $250

 

 

You can simply black the window and hang some lights if you want, and just macgyver something for reflection. Tent will capture the light much better though and will need much smaller filter too for the smell if that is going to be a problem where you live.. Personally i don't like doing in the room anymore as polair fly's over my house every day and night

when u say u cut hols for ventilation do u mean in the wall or ?

$250 sounds like a good price for a tent that size, I think im more inclined to go with the tent as it would be  easier for odour control and security, would also be much easier for me than hanging lights from the ceiling etc

Get a cheap tent that does the job, there is a lot of fancy ones out there but save your money for the good lights and most importantly the filter.

Do a little research and ask around.. I don't know a lot about which lights are best i couldn't afford any good ones

 

2 x 600w will be plenty for 2x2m or thereabouts tent.  Pretty sure you wont control the temps in there with 2 x 1000w Hid or HPS even in winter unless you are pumping A/C.

 

You could try the latest LED's which i think are still quite expensive but from what i have seen they are definitely the best you can get and no problem with heat.

No worries. yeah get duel spectrum HPS or use HID for Veg and HPS for flower.  Just look for and research some decent brand

A 2.4*1.2*2.0m tent with 2 x 600w HPS lights will do 2 pounds a grow.  Spend about $300-400 on a tent that size will get you reasonable quality, or be silly like me and spend $600. 

 

When buying electrical components, globes, and filters, avoid Growlush, or anything on Ebay that doesn't have a reputable brand name (as they're usually Growlush as well).  Magnetic or Digital ballasts, either are fine but digital maybe a little better.  Don't underestimate the value of a good carbon filter and exhaust fan, you are better spending the extra.  Choose your grow medium, and matching nutrients, and plan it out so you can make sure you get everything you need up front.  $1500-2000 all up should get you properly setup and running.

 

Having said that, if I owned my house and felt I could safely grow inside the house, I'd be doing as Naycha said and set up a dedicated room.  But that tent will do what you want.

 

Spend a few days going through diaries on this site to get ideas for how you want to grow etc, and start planning.  We're all happy to help out in exchange for you posting grow pics
