Cannabutter in caps?

Razz0r

Question

Hi All,

My girlfriend suffers from major headaches due to a small tumor. Her hands shake heaps now when she starts to get them.

From the cannabutter of course I have made many things but she hates being stoned. One day thinking about the temps that I use for the cannabutter,

I figured most of the THCA was still there and not converted to THC as that would happen in the cooking process.

So we have been trying just the butter in caps. The butter has been made from trash, so leaf and steam mainly with bud trimmings and small budlets.

Its working wonders!! Getting rid of the headaches and even bringing back her sex drive! (YAY for me lol) but also stops her hands from shaking.

Could one assume that I'd be capturing CBD, CBN and others in the process to make the butter (Lous method)?

This is how they end up - can't taste the canna even with it being green - washed it 4 times and the water was crystal clear on the last run.

butter can/will eat through the capsule unless you keep them in the fridge/freezer

-tried butter in a capsule once, they lasted 24 hrs ish at (Brissy) room temp

One of the things I was learning about whilst in Cali was how to maintain consistency in dosing of edibles (it's the same concept with your caps)

guess, what, they have problems maintaining a product line that is ALWAYS spot on  (I heard this from a few small businesses owners)

- i.e. 100mg is the 'normal' edible strength -

because it's too costly to test each batch there are often disclaimers that say dose can very up to +/- 10%

that +/- 10% was found to be mostly accurate when tested across large number of products, when using the same strains of canna as a starting point.

sooooo if you always use leaf AND it is the same strains each time AND you've dialed in your decarboxylation process, theoretically your final product should not vary much more than +/-10%

"Cold pressed tinct" - one easy method is a green dragon style tinct BUT freeze the alcohol and greens - shake often -can be done with fresh or dried buds. The tinct I made stayed mostly clear not at all green -didn't document how I did it tho. You know you've done it right when your non-freezable alcohol become a slush/slurry.

Also water hash can be considered cold extraction process too -

LUCK!

Cold press basically means you infuse without using heat.  Alcohol tinctures are a common one, but you can use oils as well and the one I've been keen to have a go at is glycerine anything that sucks out and/or attaches to the cannabinoids.  Basically the same as infusing using heat, but you just let things steep in a cool dark spot over a few weeks or more, but it's been a while since I researched the processes.  Supposed to be good for pain and sedation without psychoactive effects.

I prefer to use hash for my edibles as it's easier to estimate strength and dosage as there is much less variation in concentrations of the base material, plus it means I don't necessarily have to filter/wash the final product if I don't want to.

Thanks Matti!

At the moment its trial by fire on the strains I am trying for my ADHD. But I fully understand what you are saying.

And yes the caps are kept in the freezer ;)
