blue lotus? mmm is that what im thinking of?

Blue lotus is lily, more of a flower shape, if fact the colours are exactly the same. Mine is an iris. aparently blue lotus gets you high doesnt it??

Cool Luke, I didn't know you grew orchids.

 

I only have one, it's a paphiopedilum. It has only one flower per shoot in winter(not really sure what you'd call it)

Paphiopedilum spicerianum I think. Nice one.

 

Here's a couple more from my collection which have been blooming recently. And a few from my new workplace.

 

This is Dendrobium x delicatum a natural hybrid between Den. Speciosum, aka the King Orchid or Rock Lilly as some New South Welshmen have called it, and Dendrobium kingianum.

This is a couple of shots of Den. Red Flush x Den. speciosum "Big Yellow". Really good little plant this one, flowering repeatedly of each stem until they lose all their leaves, which makes for a great specimen plant. Lovely scent too, kinda like a honey perfume, if that's possible...

Now we have a couple of Crucifix orchids, the pink one is Epidendrum denticulatum, and the orange/yellow one is Epidendrum radicans. These grow as garden plants quite readily, needing only a frost free area and well drained soil to grow into large plants. They can sometimes flower for months off a sequentially flowering inflorescence.

Now I'll just show some Cymbidium hybrids, these are from my new job, which is at an orchid nursery. Hard to work when you drool all the time, but I can usually tear myself away to do actual work at some stages.
