Hi Q
Did you see this link I posted for Fisspiss.

Lots of people with same problem, good advice from experience growers as well.

My take on it was unless you have  full or near full on sativa and its localised your gonna have trouble. Some full on sativas will still flower because there breed half way around the world.

Most people get around it by using the great outdoors as 1 big flower room all year round.  Veg inside under lights, move outside. I think Fisspiss said he had great results with local grown bag seed. Someone or a group at some stage has breed something that works. This is consistent with info in the linked thread.

If you want to grow indicas, I think a inside veg is mandatory, unless you hit on a lucky genetic in a indica/ hybred.

That just my opinion on what I have been reading.

Timing of the grow to get over the wettest part of year as well. Only local knowledge will give that time. Its ok to have started just flower in wet season , but not full flower obviously.

My understanding of sativas, particularly tropical strains, is that they prefer a flower cycle with less light hrs than indicas, so the Thai's should be good if they haven't been put out too early, with the added advantage of being able to continue flowering nice and long up there in the tropics without getting hammered by frosts.

As for flowering year round in the tropics, would likely work out with some strains.  I'd either run 18/6 or 20/4 for indoor veg and hope the sudden change triggered it, or possibly even trigger flowering under lights just to be sure.  My understanding is that your days never get overly long even in mid summer, so it might be worth a crack, we get around 16/8 here if you include twilight times, so it just doesn't work out.  Not sure if you'd want indi doms flowering during monsoon season though.

Cheers for that info SPH, I havnt read through your other grows before, seems the lights maybe a goer, if things keep flowering quickly.

Yes the Thai's are looking great, no sign of flowering yet, so fingers crossed they keep on keepin on :) I'll get some photos up eventually of them. They around the 60-70cm in height and have been outdoors for 2 weeks now since having them cege under cfl for a couple weeks, as you suggested in another post ;) I was definately planting too early for them in September.... Looking like end of October is the earliest up here in the tropics.

The Pineapple chunk that was growing as a mother and then put outside after about 8 weeks is going nuts! No sign of flowering yet, but it is about 1.3m tall and looks like it isnt going to stop until the hours start going back down again now :D hopefully, if it does make it to the wet season without flowering, it doesnt get effected by mould. I did read somewhere PC is a bit mould resistant tho..

Current day length here... 13 mins short of 14 hrs... still flowering are Skunk #1, Ganesh Spirit, Power Kush... Silver Haze is vegging.

Thats good to know about the Haze.... I have 1 Fem Liberty Haze in the ground too, its about 4 weeks into vege and not flowering :D

Thats awesome information mate, cant believe i didnt findi it with all the research i been doing!

Think thats the go up here, Sativas in in spring, Indica's vegged indoors for 4-5 weeks then put out into the giant flowering room I seem to have struck gold with by moving up this way years ago! :D

I need my indica, and after the indoor is finished this grow, the tent will be packed away for about a year because me and the mrs have a little one on the way!

So it will be just 1 x 400w LED in the 80cmx80cmx160cm tent only vegging and tucked away in the garage.... Plan will be to sort of perpetual grow all year round from now on.

Thanks everyone

Is it a clone or a seedling? Although, both strains have "haze" in the name, mine has 30% more sativa in it's background than yours... so if it is a clone it may still begin to flower, a seedling shouldn't have a problem.

All the best for the season. :gardening:

Well... I don't know if it will be that hazey, it's 50:50 hybrid... Barney's list it as g13 x chemdawg... but I am sure I remember it as (g13 xhaze)xchemdawg. It's a popular choice for depression and anxiety. I looked at Liberty Haze, but went for the most haze I could get, without sacrificing the bud structure you gain by having some indica in there too. If you have to read that last sentence more than once... don't worry, I did too... it's a hell of a mouthful.  :bagged:

I certainly expect the seedling will continue to veg... but that isn't a guarantee.
