To trim or not to trim

Recommended Posts

Damn. Temps didn't hold and dropped to 24 - so back up to 600w. Its cheaper then running a heater for now. Flowering will require heat.

Flowering does not require a temperature higher than 24C. In flower I aim for 23C lights on an 20C lights off... keeping the temp up high enough when the light is off is my hardest part.... oh and leave the leaves alone, plants grow them on purpose ;)

Thanks a million guys and girls!!

Well iam in a position to try it lol veg Iam keeping them between 26-28c 50% humd

But tents in a shed, cold in Vic, 20/4 atm with the four hours between 10am and 2pm , so getting temps down to 20-19c in the middle of the day is hard when its 21 outside. But at night, well it was down to 6c last night outside, tent held 20.5 - flowering I will need a heater coz over 12 hours that tent will come down to 10-14c

That is happening with the indica. But the lowers are pushing their way out. ;-)

Totally awesome.

I'd take her advise anyway for just taking the time to post it for me :-)

Weaker lighting in veg can  have the effect of opening up internode spacing and let in more light. My thinking is may be useful for the full on indica varieties that can crowd themselves out in flower.

Agreed,  The only way I can think of to determin this is to do a companion grow. Maybe two auto pots being fed from the same rez. AND it appears that this is best suited to the Indica Doms. That chap from 420 magazine has interesting stuff to add. I wonder what Mr Smith has to say.

For the purpose of this thred and answering Razor, I think it would be wise to dial in lighting, ventelation, feed and temperature control before stressing the plant with defoliation. Get the basics right the BRANCH out with technique. Bassman did stress that this should be done to healthy plants as it does slow down production.

Hi Louise,

I have found I have massive problems trying to keep the temp up with light off.

what are some good methods?

At the moment I am looking at a green house heater 56cm long & 50w or under http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GREEN-HOUSE-PORTABLE-HEATER-GREENHOUSE-TUBE-HEATING-x2-/261844050697?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3cf71f2309

EDIT** That one doesn't have a thermostat - so no good :(

Its a great idea to not spend any $ on heating unless its a bulb and theres a plant under it. A second tent/cupboard, set on 18/6 (off set to the other grow) and housing your mum and or the next set of clones will raise the room temp enough to keep temps at an acceptable average. if u can get a maximum minimum Thermometer and hydrometer you will be able to calc the daily average.
