3 plants 3 problems? with pics

Recommended Posts

Spider b I never flushed my autos and there doing fine. But plenty people say to flush because of salt build up

The thing you need to remember to do is FEED them again after flushing. After flushing and draining, feed to 20% run off. If you don't feed to a decent runoff you wont have a high enough concentration of nutrients in the coco to feed the plant.

Hey Gipsey,

Looking at those pics, what lights did you have on when they were taken. Those plants seem very yellow to me like they have been taken under HPS, but you state you are running MH. if this is the case and those photos are from under MH, then I'd be thinking nute lockout. Nute lockout occurs when your pH is too high or too low. Certain nutes are only available to the plant at certain pH levels, (there is a chart in Cannaversity somewhere that shows this), around 6.3 most nutes are available at anytime for the plant to access

The yellowing can be a result of the plant using all of its reserves to fight and survive. You may never have needed to flush before but, something is wrong, you have identified that fact yourself. So now you need to bring everything back to normal, and a flush with pH adjusted water is the best way to clean out and start fresh. There is an old saying "the definition of stupidity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result" continuing the same as you are ain't going to change the resulting outcome. Make the change and improve the situation.

So, sorry to say But I too would have to agree with K-9. Flush, bring back to normal then, re nute.

Edit: Both Lou and SpiderB are correct. The plant is showing signs that it needs feed but if as you say you are feeding it nutes and still no improvements then the plant isn't using the nutes provided. Why? cos those nutes are being locked out IMO

Ok gets ya pens n pads out folks, winning tips cumn right up! So when using coco, if ya getting a bit sus on salt build up, simply test ya run off ec. Ph, oh the importance of ph, you can really give ya plants the best nutes and every additive ya can find, worng ph and ya straight up wasting ya time and nutes. Anything above 6.0 you will lock out K, Fe and B. Anything lower than 5.8 and ull miss out on Ca and Mn, just sayin... As for flushing, test ya runoff. Cant really say that a large deposit of salt is easily removed as a small amount, and 20% aint always gunna cut it. Myself, i do a 2 step flush in the shower. 1st lot is to disolve the salts and ill give it a few mins then ill go hit it again to chase out any remaining salts. Hope this helps and gets ya goin, cheers KB.

I have a blue lab ph multi meter and it was calibrated when I popped the seeds so im not sure if its a ph problem ive never had plants looking like this. I grew in soil before and had heaps more problems with spider mites fungus gnats heat and humidity put these are the worst start I've ever had! Hopefully they perk up because I want to scrog them
