I don't know much about growing cannabis but I am currently in the process of learning all about it.

Is it possible for me to start growing in a nicely secluded area in Lane Cove national park or a place similar to this i.e not my home?

Also I have just started learning about the large variety of seeds. I feel as though even If drew myself to exhaustion learning about all the different kinds I still wouldn't know anything about them. Does anyone have any suggestions for what kind of seeds I should try to seek out, maybe list your personal choice or the ones that first worked well for you?

Welcome to Oz stoners mate take a look around use the search function and see what you can find - there is a plethora of information wait for you!

stealth out door growing is not as easy as one would think - read the files attached to this post - https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/topic/67789-aussie-bush-paradise/ and then think again about growing in bushland :P it probably wont be as crazy as that but you get the idea of the stuff you have to go though.

as for seeds / strains head over to one of the seed banks advertised here and do a pick and mix for some idea's and pictures check out other peoples grow diary with all the info you could need. https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com/forum/99-cannabis-grow-diaries/

other than that kick back and enjoy the scenery :bongon:

Lane cove national park gets a hell of a lot of foot traffic my friend. It's a national park bang smack in the middle of the north of Sydney. Personally I think you're asking to have you crop found and or nicked. Just my 2¢ - hope u prove me wrong. Live to see a grow journal if you do.

yep, what he said.  If you want to grow on public land you need to go where not many people go.  Bushwalkers lose the trail and end up wandering aimlessly, or they get adventurous and go exploring.  Then there's hunters, legal or otherwise.  And don't forget rippers, but at least they won't go to the coppers.  Do some research and put a lot of serious thought into your choice of outdoor location, and understand that the less work and hassle that's in it for you the more likely your crop will get found.  Plenty of bushland not far from Sydney at least, if you are prepared to travel a bit.  I've been to Lane Cove's parkland, and would definitely recommend against that idea.

Indica dominant strains definitely a good beginner option, generally lower height and earlier finish to flowering.  As stated by others, do your research and planning, and please share your grow on this site.  Plenty of outdoor grow journals here to look through for hints and pitfalls, and you've plenty of time before the next outdoor season starts.  Good luck

Hello and welcome.

There are definately easier options to growing outdoors for the inexperienced, unless you like to travel to places less frequented by people. I don't know your neck of the woods, but Sydney has a lot of people that like to go outdoors.

Time to start digging your holes for next season is now and getting later. Lime should be in the ground for 3 months before you plant to get its maximum effect.

Welcome Bud,

Lane Cove National Park is super popular with walkers everyday as its smack bang surrounded by suburbia on all sides. Been a few murders and bodies buried but no ganja grown there. Head north my friend!
