First timer - when to pull?

I've cut plants down at the base of the stem and hung the whole thing up to dry.  It looks cool but its really not.  I couldn't tell any difference in the buds after being in a jar for a few days and not only that but it took me considerably longer to manicure the plants as well.  Manicuring a single branch is hard after a while.  Manicuring a whole plant, even one that is hanging up is a royal pain in the arse.  It's much easier to break the plant down into manageable sized pieces and hang those up to dry.  Manicuring is done 10x faster and easier not to mention the lack of any real difference once the buds have been in jars for an extremely short period of time.  All that's gained is a slightly better taste at first and I personally don't think it's worth it.

Heres some more higher quality close up pics of the buds up top. Not exactly sure when the plant started flowering but its been quite a while.

 

How much longer do you guys think this plant has to grow?
