Home THC/CBD/CBN Test Kits

Recommended Posts

G'day

Thought i would put this topic up for the wider community, as much info and feedback as possible would be great.

So like most fledgeling growers i have big dreams of someday creating a strain worthy of jumping on a plane flying over to the Netherlands and spending 6 months growing it out and WINNING the HT Breeder Cup. We all can dream right ? RIGHT. But my question starts here, now im sure back in the day when shanti, Soma, Teddy and the likes got to creating some of the worlds most renowned Strains to this date they did not have the tools and the technology the average grower can posses today but yet they come up with the goods. Today there is so much emphasis on how strong the THC is how much CBD to THC ratio produces the best high, what combination treats what illness most effective its crazy customizable "Pimp My Ganja" if you will and we only have the OLD School breeders to thank for there hard work and effort for all the strains they found crossed, and saved from sure extinction.

So with that said i feel like if im going to try to create my own special little girl i would really need to know how much cannabinoids and terpens my new and or future breeding stock would posses yeah ? and it makes sense that i would isolate the particular Cannabinoids and or Terpens with accurate precise measurements and not just smoking a whole bowl then rubbing 50 males (plants lol) to smell if it would  be a viable canndadate or not.

So how do we do this you ask ? Well i asked  the same question to sir Google and to my amazement WE CAN it came up with several sites selling home Cannabinoids test kits truly amazing Golf clap to them they seem to be fairly accurate and priced very well imho well cheap enough to put to rest out of your mates or grow colleagues who has da bomb, da funky, da chronic, da Ganja you know what i mean (Quote ALI G).

Question to the CC does or has anyone had any experience with any of these products ? i would love to know did, not put link up just google will bring them up.

And has anyone have any other general info on what i have wrote jump on and let me know.

Sorry this could have gone in 4 different folders was not sure how to post to all ill let the mods put it wherever.

Ok i just found Doc's post (great minds) this morning on the DX App OMG same i want one what i seen when i googled it was these test kits with solution  to mix up and test strips, 'the end result looked to be fairly accurate' lol it was red blobs on test strips and the size was the thc % The DX app looks like where the benchmark has been set.

http://cannalyticssupply.com/  i have to laugh looking at it now. You decide Cool looking Device or mixing solution's i dont go to that much trouble to make oil.

I have no personal experience with these test kits.

I gather the one doc linked is not in production yet and will not go into production unless they reach their fundraising goal.

I would like to try the Thin Layer Chromatography kits. These would be most useful for comparative testing eg if you had 5 plants of one strain and you wanted to find out which had a higher concentration of thc.

yeah that's the thing even though the dot/chem test doesn't give you numbers you can always compare to a baseline of others, i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out values after a few tests.

and i think the money is justifiable depends on your situation, if you want to test plants for good stats so you can keep a mother etc or just make sure that pound you just harvested is the bomb chronic :P

Cheers i will take a look at those posts. and yeah i too would like to confirm some of my suspicions i have with some strains $144 bucks for 5 tests i could justy this expense in 2 sec flat to 100% confirm one way or another you know ?

It's 5 test plates, 4/5 tests per plate = 20 - 25 tests.

This would be a really simple test to develop. You get a certain thinckness papper, always use that GSM, dont make it too heavy. The take a known amt of a know substance, eg glycerol would be a good one, This heavy molecule is gloing to climb to a certain hight. this can be a standard, use this to calculate the weight and distribution of the oil, there should be a few peaks each peek will be a different molecule.

Yeah but the frustration of having to create such baselines and or procedures to work with compounds that would show clearly the difference from THC to THCV would be very hard and very time consuming , well for a average intelligence person anyway so i think this is why company's take these endeavors on and like Nay said 20 tests you cant go wrong.
