2.9 x 2.9 x 2.0 Lighting

Recommended Posts

Wondering if I REALLY need the air cooled hoods. I'm concerned about noise from a few 100m inline fans running constantly + my 12" Centri fan (it's rated at about 800 CFM).

The recommended CFM for my grow space using optimum lighting (1400ws more than i'll be running) is 544 CFM.

tldr, 800 CFM 12" centri fan, do I really need the air cooled hoods? The air will be replaced completely every 1-2 minute if I want.

Heya Artifice =) , Mate if ya don't use the optimum amount of light for your area...... your wasting your time TBH. Your area is twice as wide as mine, and if I have full tent going, thats 1800w. So you need at LEAST 3600w.

Also with that amount of lights if your even considering growing through summer, you'll need the air cooled shades, and even then you'd want to be careful.

I shut down for summer, battling heat sucks, been down that road.....

Your fan may be rated at 800cfm, but every duct bend, shade etc that it has to run through, adds more restriction to your flow..... and you got a lot of stuff to cool, so won't be overkill.

I'd run a 150mm-200mm centri just to vent the cooltubes, then use ya bigger fan for the room. Keeping them seperate allows you to use a thermostat later if you like... which makes keeping lights off temps constant too. Cooltube fans are on when lights are on, Bigger fan is on 24/7, or at lights off, whenever thermostat triggers it.

Peace. Nibbler.

I think if I used all of the space I had and put in optimum lighting, I wouldn't have any room to move around and tend to any plants. I've measured up, and the best I can do is two 2.0 x 1.0 F&D tables (even then, It's a squeeze for me to get around inside).

I had planned to have 2 x 600w per table, 2400w across 2 tables.  Unless I switch to using 1k w lights and put 2 per table? or use a mix of 1k'ers and 400-600's?
