DoctorWho
I made the mistake of buying growlush products as you really only get what you pay for. Their products aren't good at all and if you want a recommendation it would be to stay away from their products. On a more positive note though I was talking about buying fans in chat last night and was recommended the larger version of this one.http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BLAUBERG-TURBO-125mm-INLINE-FAN-BATHROOM-EXHAUST-VENTILATION-HYDROPONIC-FANS-AIR-/140927982875?pt=AU_Lighting_Fans&hash=item20cff65d1b The seller of that fan has other really good fans at reasonable prices too so check him out. Above all though just stay away from growlush...

Anyone know of some quiet fans? That fan looks pretty good - dBA @ 3m: 29/ 36 Edited April 24, 2013 by ShazMo09

In my haste to replace it I bought one that looks like this for $80 from my local hydro store (it was all they had in that size and he highly recommended it ) however it is very loud.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110918033506 I will be replacing it as soon I find a quieter fan. Fans should last at least 10 years.
DoctorWho
I had a fan like that $80 one in the past and it was a noisy mofo. Could hear it at the other end of the house I'm sad to hear that your fan died after only 3 years. They really should last longer than that but I think 10 years is pushing it a bit. I'd honestly be really happy to get 5 years out of the one I'm buying but being realisitc about things its going to be on 24/7 so I don't like my chances. If I can get 3 years out of it that will be good enough for me as it will have definitely paid itself off over that time.
jaikai
G`day ShazMo09. Cheap, reliable and quiet... honestly, pick any two At that size look at westaflex or Blauberg, as linked above. Also Ruck, RVK and even Canfan. There`s a lot of other reasons why fans are noisy, not just the fan itself... I had the 250m version of that fan, They aren't all that quiet and it actually stopped working two weeks ago after only three years... Those fans have a 5 yr warranty, use it FWIW I never heard of a blauberg shit itself that early in the piece under less than the harshest of conditions... haze420mist
Hey mate Have a look at getting acoustic ducting makes it a little quieter, also wrap thick blanket around ur filter and fan to mask some noise. Cheers haze Also of topic if worried about the noise coming from your grow room buy.a small radio and have that on just enough to not hear inside your room.
