Jack Herer - the cream of the crop?

A mate of mine is giving me clones of the jack and he has grown it for over a year now and was saying the buds aren't that big like most but once dried the buds are harder than rocks very very dense. He was saying he would pull an average of 16-17 ounces per plant.

Cheers haze

Not so interested in quantity I am more curious about the flavour and quality of the smoke...

the flavor for me is kinda peppery, as is the smell, if you mean effect then it is potent in comparison to other strains i have tried and grown it is more a daytime smoke or a sociable smoke, I get a good buzz off it and still stay active, if you mean quality as in flavor I like the flavor, if you mean smoothness then it would be a case of how it was cured. I cure mine however I have partaken of buds quickly dried and uncured that I harvested as a sample just before maturity and it was still smooth enough for me. If you think it is worthy and you are happy with the input from others after a period of time, and speaking only by my experience just give it a go mate, I think it is worth a run if you are really interested in it. The blurb " the cream of the crops I think is debatable " depending on the person but I reckon give it a go if you want, I'm glad I did!

i've never tried JH but i have been growing jack flash for a year. (JH x superskunk)

sensi's description is accurate in my experience - great bag appeal, fluffy corkscrew shaped, light green buds. citusy/pine (the smell when cured is a stand out for me)

the high comes on strong and is all in your head for the first wave - ive felt like the inside of my scull was being pulled to the roof by string olny a minute after exhaling ( this never lasts long though, the cereberal effect of this strain is nice- energising and clear). this then gives way to a gradually more lethargic stone as the trip wears on.

JH produces four phenos (1ind 3sat) so you'd have a chance of finding something that suits your grow style and taste

as suggested super silver haze from mns would be a safe bet in this department

and yeah, if you can make some f2 seed stock then you'll have something alot of people would be interested in trading with, which may make the price tag a little more acceptable.

also, sensi arn't going to get away with saying champagne of strains if it's average - its gonna be good! ( and im sure you've spent 150 bucks on lesser wares) if you're limited on your spending it could be a good idea to buy a few cheaper strains and have more luck finding something that suits you. mandala seeds seems to have a good ethos and product , their prices dont go over 35eu

good luck !

Always thought the original Jack Herer was a mutation of Super Silver Haze? Let me re-phrase that, I always thought Jack Herer was a mutation of Super Silver Haze. You see, there is only one Jack, okay, two, but the one we are concerned with doesn't come in a can, mixed with cola. Since its rise to fame, many a wannabe grower has claimed to have grown it. The question at hand though, is it the creme de la creme? It is up there, high on my list as a haze fancier, but its up to the smoker, ultimately. There are better medicinal strains that have been bred since Jack was first released, and higher yielding crossbreeds as well, the original Jack was not a high yeilder. I have tried to grow Jack, humidity issues and botritis getting the better of me unfortunately, but in hindsight, even I cannot be sure if the source of that clone was legit, his finished product was nothing to right home about, although I am sure it had something to with his feeding regime. It was akin to raising a child on Macca's, way too much of all the wrong shit. If you have Jack Herer, give it love, and the real Jack will smile down upon you from heaven, it was named in his honour, and honour it we must. Edited by burner

Nah, it's nothing like that Sharpie. When Sensi bought WL, the breeders at WL gained access to Sensi's plant collection. The Jack Herer sold by WL is bred by WL using Sensi's genetic stock... and so on for the other strains you will see in the WL catalogue that have the same names as Sensi trade marked strains.

WL also does the initial development and market testing of new products eg. WL had fems in their catalogue many years before Sensi and launched a range of new autos 2 years prior to Sensi releasing one.
