Jack Herer - the cream of the crop?

Is Jack the best strain out there? I don't think it is, but it's certainly not the worst, by far.

The Haze taste stands out nicely. The colas are huge and airy, probably some of the biggest you'll see, but they are long flowering, up to 10 and beyond 12 weeks and I didn't find anything that stood out as a keeper.

Super Silver Haze is probably a better choice as far as a similar type of plant goes and I think the smoke is better quality,... less yield though.

Jacks biggest feature is the huge tastey colas, that's what I think.

yes, correct me if i'm wrong

Nah, it's nothing like that Sharpie. When Sensi bought WL, the breeders at WL gained access to Sensi's plant collection. The Jack Herer sold by WL is bred by WL using Sensi's genetic stock... and so on for the other strains you will see in the WL catalogue that have the same names as Sensi trade marked strains.

WL also does the initial development and market testing of new products eg. WL had fems in their catalogue many years before Sensi and launched a range of new autos 2 years prior to Sensi releasing one.

I grew Jack Herer a few years ago, found it good, nice size, large yield, excellent smoke. Couldn't fault it really.

Currently I have Critical Jack growing, I received three seeds from a mate who bought them back from a trip to Spain.

I grew the seeds which were all female and the result looked promising so I took some clones and now i'm into the fourth grow with this strain. It's a fast grower, definitely finished inside seven weeks. Big yield from very tight nuggety buds, very sticky and resinous, not a lot of leaf to trim. I grow it to about 1.2 to 1.5meters high, tree style, definitely needs staking as the stem is fragile looking.

Average 6oz off each plant. The smoke is excellent, instant strong and long lasting high although I think thats selective by whoever is smoking, different strokes for different folks.

Of the strains I have it is the most resistant to mould and fungus. Had a bit of that this year from the wet damp conditions.

It's very similar in every way to Cinderella 99 which was my favorite all time plant, only the smell is different.

I like Critical Jack much more than the Jack Herer I used to grow, it's definitely a keeper.
