sandchu
Hi crew just a question for anyone who may know, I have a female white widow that has been flowering for 67 days in cupboard, scog perlite/coco medium. Having chopped main colas at day 63 when trich's were creamy just as I prefer, I placed the plant back in flower cupboard after being in darkness for a cpl of days to see what would happen. It appears to have started to self seed. I can't see any bananas, though I have had this plant throw bananas this late on other grows. I will try to get some happy snaps up. My question is will the seeds be hermi or wishfull thinking viable seeds, or should I just pull her out to stop the risk of crossing with a sativa that's about two weeks off being ready. Any thoughts would be appreciated. VOSTOK
Pics would be ideal....pollen must have come from someplace...I'm sure you'd agree, but the big question here is how and why did this plant hermie, so close to harvest, has light been getting in some how?...have you been screwing around with the lights shift and times..?I'd be treating the seeds as unviable, not to be used unless you want a hermie plant, but some don't and many offer up a quality female plant....but is a risk. But whatever you do once you have done with this plant wipe down the walls roof and floor of this cub board with hot water and 10% bleach solution to nullify any potent pollen lurking in there, and do keep any other plants well clear of the hermie, keep that sucker in quarantine ..like a boat full poms with chicken pox.... Frank Reynolds
Sounds like female pollen is the culprit, not hermie seeds, rather seeds prone to self seeding at the end of flowering!!
Naycha
Pics would be ideal....pollen must have come from someplace...I'm sure you'd agree, but the big question here is how and why did this plant hermie, so close to harvest, has light been getting in some how?...have you been screwing around with the lights shift and times..? If you read the post you would see that he chopped the main buds off the plant, put the plant in the dark for a few days and then back in the flower room. With that amount of stress it' no wonder it has (most likely) thrown out male flowers. The only way to really know for sure about the sex of the offspring is to grow them out and see for yourself. sandchu
Hi ya guys and thanks fer yer replies. After an investigation of the seeds which were only on a lower limb of the plant, i didn't want to take the chance of breeding hermis so I've scrapped her for hash stash to make way for next round. Tho I have wiped over entire grow room to eliminate any stray pollen. I'm guessing they were produced by the stress of harvest and being in darkness for several days. Could not see any male bits though. must have been stray pollen from a neighbour as I ain't had a male for several years.
