Carbon filter fan

Recommended Posts

I am still in design stage for my stealth .. It is not going to be big.. Will keep a mother and two plants. I am looking at making my carbon filter soon and was wondering what is the best quiet fan I can use fit the exhaust? Smallest centrifugal inline fan I've seen Is 150mm.. Is this too big for a small grow? Pc fans prob wong donthe job eh? I am going to try hydro led panels so they don't produce much heat..

my veg tent with a 400w mh uses a 150mm inline fan with an odor sock and it works quite well. If you are making your own it probably won't as your unlikely to get as good flow vs filtration rates as a pro filter . But as there is less heat you might get away with just an inline.

your biggest problem will be getting a yield from the "hydro led panels" having said that small yields wont make that much smell either so maybe skip the filter altogether

Cheers, not sure bout lighting yet.. Just seen those led lights n thought they might work.. Anyone on this forum tried them?

Few guys have, diarys all go quiet or the add other lighting etc.

As for fans, you cant have too much fan action and you need a decent fan (centri) to get the push through the filter.

You can calculate airflowoin the calc in Cannaversity.

if you are fair dinkum about yeild and quality smoko stick with hps

same principal for odour control, half-baked homemade filters rarely work on stinky plants

difficult to pack the charcoal well enuf as to capture to all the smelly molecules ..

but not impossible

in growing yer own weed there are no successful shortcuts

either use the right gear or just take up a hobby like collecting stamps or something else maybe

yea sorry to put you on a downer ... but hey if ya do it right

you could be overgrown with fat, juicy, sticky buds :xcited:

:peace:
