Rockwool

growing style?i wish for sea of green

Daily watering/ feeding

PH 6.4

30 deg 40% hum

airflow unsure small fan on with lights

vegn after cloning 6 days ago

approx 8wks old

strains unknown 1x sativa 3x indica

Background, 1st sorry for no pics i will add em when i find the damn camera(bloody missus)

Noticed small aphid like bugs on fri only on sativa at base of plant on a couple of lower stems & main stem dark brown adults bout 1-2mm also 1/3 that size younger ones in the rockwool greenish/white. So i made solution of pyrethrum(Yates) sprayed bases of plants killed bugs no worries but ever since plants sun leaves have yellowed dried/burned off all the way to plant tops also some of the smaller leaves at nodes have been burnt sativa showing worst effects but indicas are following pattern. I have flushed everyday since n cut nutes back to half appears to have stopped(fingers crossed) hoping to save em. So been looking through the forums for anything on pyrethrum but nothing similar there. But i will only be using neem in the future thx forum, i noticed the active ingredient is PIPERONYL BUTOXIDE has anyone ever had or heard of bad effects from this?

Maybe put them in the shade when you spray them... looks like the sort of burn you can get from wet leaves. Don't worry, they wont have taken anything up through the rockwool... if that were the case the growing tips would be showing damage, rather than the all over burn.

A couple of general growing points... they look like they need bigger pots. Yes, you can get away with smaller pots in rockwool but they still need some root space. Other than that, your pH is on the high side for a hydroponic medium, the plants will do better at a ph of 5.8 - 6.2 and your grow space is a bit hot. 30'C is stressful on the plants, especially if you don't have adequate airflow.

All the best, I hope they recover quickly.

Thanks Louise,

They are looking bit better today tops greening slightly, just defoilated, the internodes are shooting they have taken fair bit of nutes up compared to last 4 days.

I put a thermometer in with em last night n my temps were a bit off maxed at 26 but in coming weeks/months heat will always be my major issue will have to crank a/c :bleh:

As for pot size i will address it i didnt intend on vegn em this long nevermind least the clones looking good day7.

Hi Haratio,

Thanks for your input. neem all the way in the future for sure. They were cloned 7 days ago might take another batch now though n flower the lot keen for some smoke. :smoke:

That shit is poison man a bit of neem is all you need.

The general measure of poisonousness is the LD50. This is the dose at which 50% of test subjects die. Note, these figures are for rats... all LD50's are given for rats because we can't ethically kill hundreds of people to generate statistics.

Neem Oil LD50-14 ml/kg

Piperonyl butoxide LD50- 6,900 mg/kg

Thanks Louise,

Getting bit techie now lolcool as. Now i will do some research to catch up .

Thanks for your input n it's got me thinking(pain) :faint:

Thinking maybe the root cause not the pyrethrum or piperonyl butoxide so i am looking for a test subject in the garden for a trial of the "monsta bud" growth hormone it is old (say+5yrs) i cant find a use by, but now i'm not willing to try giving it on the girls again.

:thankyou:
