Advice For First Time Growers..

Recommended Posts

Some advice after reading a few posts with newbies having questions regarding first grows.

Too many of you are at risk of fucking your first plants because of over enthusiasm.

Mj was first a plant which grew in the wild. There were no lights, weekly applications of bloom buster, or careful preening.

For outdoor growers all you need to do is;

Attain good seeds or clones.

Get a good balanced soil that is the right PH.

Put the plant in a full sun position.

Water it adequately.

Feed a balanced fertilizer at the required times.

I know with my first grow many moons ago, I overfertilized, over watered, over loved it to death!

JUST LEAVE IT ALONE.

For your second or third grow, by all means try and obtain some of that Latvian Falcon guano that will give you eight foot buds, but for your first grow, just let the plant do its thing.

The genetics of the plant will largely determine how it will grow, so if it's not genetically programmed to be a big yeilder, fertilizing the hell out it will make not much difference.

I know how hard it is not to add all sorts of wonder products, but just be patient and you will have a better chance of having good buds first time.

P.S

This post isn't designed to discourage use of nutes etc, just to warn first time growers how easy it is to harm your plant if you go overboard.

:D

Yep definately agree. Heres an example of an OUTDOOR grow that was just good soil (some premium osmocote potting mix), good sun, and a regular water

4 months old this plant is.

Smokes well, smells good. I think i got lucky with the seeds, from a bad of hydro

cheers

indo yup I hear ya, and yes your right the more nutes and shit that you use then the better and bigger the harvest will be for an advanced grower.

However until you have a few grows under your belt you are likely to kill the first grow, you learn from your mistakes and the yeild gets better.

If you do use any fancy additives or nutes and something goes wrong, then Its ALOT hard to remedy because there are so many things it could be, eg- too strong nutes, too weak nutes, incorrect use of additives, wrong Ph and all that sort of thing.

nope I have to agree with expansion here.
