carbon filters....

Hi all.

Finally got all my gear. Now to set it all up.

 

Now do I put the carbon filter on the inlet of my fan, or on the outlet?

And can I mount it on top of my drobe? Or even in my roof?

 

As i wanna put my fan in the roof with ducting straight down to drobe? As its a noisy bugger.

you can do both

 

if your putting the fan in the roof easiest way is to put the CF on the fan outlet

 

the CF will quiet it down a little too.

Okay cheers, works out well.coz my filters huge! I'll just chuck it in the roof out of the way

heya Oldman67, if ya gonna chuck it up in the roof, best hang it, or lay it on it's side on foam under it across beams, otherwise the vibration will transfer thru the ceiling and ya get this weird resinance hum/drone goin on. I put the filter and fan in the roof last time and it worked great and kept noise down. Just have to get up there every few months and give ya filter a clean on the inside though.....cause what ya can't see, ya tend to forget about. have fun. Nibbler.

Yeh I was gonna mount it off chains from beams off the roof, with rubber between the chains and wood.

That would be the bomb man, if ya can, grab some piping insulation for around ya chains, they use on air con pipes for split systems etc, its high density and will last in the roof, while giving excellent vibration dampening (Bummings, Clark Rubber). or pool noodles if they handier... Yeh just gonna use thick 6mm gasket rubber, lasts very well anywhere besides dry sunlight so im sure it'll do me well.

 

Will have to get my hands on some.ducting tonight and ill have everytying
