Only the larvae eat ur roots, u may find gnat off is no longer available in aus like other vitalink products, but pretty sure it's a neem and there's other similar products available like Eco neem and mite rid, all work well as a drench.

It does suck, they got some good stuff ,was fairly fond of their 'Bud rot stop' , but I think they ran into trouble with the avpma (aus gov pesticide dept) with their product registrations..

Fungus gnats for sure.

 

Gnat off is a very effective product. If you can't find it look for other products containing Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis) or entomopathogenic nematodes. Both Bti and entomopathogenic nematodes actively seek and kill fungus gnat larvae.

what kind of soil are u using? peat based soils attract them more and over fertilising will also

I've also used Gnat Off and it totally eradicated the larva after a few applications.

Barbed wire bats will kill em. Just take a few swings.

yeah the bacilus is a good way to go. if your running soil or coco try and find a good source of baccillus and mycho bacteria. try and find a good powdered source these are generally better than liquid versions. i use gh bennies.

 

the bennies will do wonders for your roots and the baccillus bennies when eaten by gnats forms a type of protein inside them that kills them. awesome also helps prevent root rot
