1.I have two final questions, MJOZ seedbank, are they legit..and dothey deliver to aus?

2. How much longer does growing outdoor take for a plant to reach full flowering cycle ? in comparason to the 60 or so days.. plants do under hydro/ indoor soil setups..

Peace

yeah mate MJOZ are 100% legit and are an Aussie seedbank so of course they deliver to Aus.

Some indoor strains may take 60 days to flower, but their whole growing cycle takes about 4 months from seed. 2-3 months from clone depending.

Outdoors it depending when you plant, the earlier you plant in the Spring/Summer the more veg time your plant will have. Generally they go into flower towards end of January. Look at the links in the OUtdoor section of the Growing FAQ for more info.

Strain is the biggest factor, some indicas finish after 7-8 weeks flower while pure sativas can take up to 16.

PS - Hey gringo, I've split your post into its own thread in Hydroponics ;)

Hehe aiight thanks heaps for that pipe man!

Well now were basically need to chose the strain thats right for us..ive narrowed it down to a few..so i was hoping you might help, i discussed it with my mate, what we are going to do is construct a grow box in a wardrobe .. we've been looking at the specs on the forum doesent seem too hard,it will most likely be bigger so we can expand later, i think we are looking at getting 2 x 400 watt lights for the setup (would you recommend more than 400 watt? under the 2 x 400's we figured we can fit about 6 plants .. what would a hypothetical yeild be in a grow box type construction from seed to bud for say 6 plants kept healthy under 400 watts compared to something more powerful? im sorry for all the q's im trying to get my head around what lights we actually need for about 6-8 plants. anyways hopefully you can help me decide  , heres the plant names.. and details i pulled :

White Widow/Flo x Blueberry

Northern Lights #2

Super Silver Haze f2

Bronzewhaler F3

Northern Flo x Northern Flo/Nevilles Haze

BwgF3

I have to say.. from reading all the bios and details we are leaning toward Bronzewhaler f3 , due to flower time, Strong indicia mix (90 / 10)

and its yield looks impressive ,

Our basic plan was to house 6 (Bronze f3 maybe) plants under 2 x 400 watt lamps in a wardrobe which we plan on painting and sorting out some ventialltion fans.. if we used 100mm fans powered by a computer power supply..would the power supply be in any danger moistrue/humid wise? .. and anyways.. as soon as the flowering starts we planned on putting the plants outdoor for a larger yeild.. but having autum/winter approaching maybe its best to keep them int he growbox their entire life.. im just trying to work out what lights (cost effective lamps) we should use for that type of setup, and what can be expected to yeild .. haha ok thats enough i dont think i'll have too many questions after this one

;)

thanks

I don't really know a lot about strains, but Bronzewhaler f3 sounds good to me.

Plant numbers aren't really critical, how you grow em is more important than how many you have.

What size space do you have to grow in?

How much do you want to yield how often? IOW - how much do you and your mate use normally?

Have you thought about a separate veg. cupboard for mothers & clones? This will greatly reduce your crop turnaround.

We havent actually got the wardrobe yet.. is there a specific dimension we should be looking for? ie: tall in height? wide? ..small and compact? .. etc.. This might sound stupid but were looking to yeild as much as possible of course..without compromising on quality.. from 6 Plants.. 5-10Oz per plant would be nice.. is this possible under 2 x 450 lamps?

Can you explain the "veg" period of the plant.. ive heard the term used several times.. im assuming thats when buds being to appear .. during the flowering period ? ..couldnt i maybe rig a divider.. for clones? ..and use the other side to actually grow the fems?

Thanks

Yield is much more related to light size and how well you fill out your grow space. 2 plants can potentially yield just as much as 8 plants if they are grown in the right way.

Veg period is where the plants grow, flower is when they make buds. For veg you have your lights on for at least 18 hours per day. In flower the lights need to be 12 on, 12 off.

Yes you can use a divider for clones, but it needs to be totally light proof, so the light cycles won't interefere with your flowering plants, Interruption during the dark cycle in flower can slow down flowering or cause your plants to hermy.

The minimum light intensity for flower they say is 40 watts per square foot. The more intense you get your light, the harder it is to control heat. You want to keep your cupboard within 24-27 degrees ideally.

Have a read through the Indoor section of the Growing FAQ mate. Will give you an overview of everything you need to know.

Your a bloody legend mate, i read all 27 pages of your first grow..so much knowledge in there i dont know where to begin ! Very very very intresting read although at the point where you hadent removed your male i was like Ohh bugger thats gonna be some seedy farkin bud! haha .. Great work otherwise.. going back to your.. " The minimum light intensity for flower they say is 40 watts per square foot. " .. is something like a 400/450 watt decent enough to meet those requirements over about 3 plants?

Its more accurate to work out how much you will yield by how many watts you have... I wouldn't expect more then 0.5grams per watt on your first grow... so 2x400w u could get probably between 300-500 grams if your grow goes well.

Goto the salvation army or lifeline and look at what cupboards they got look for something about 2m high and as wide and deep as you can get. Don't bother with computer fans mate specially hooking them upto computer power supplys... Goto Jaycar and once you have a nice cupboard you should really work out how many cubic feet it is then get a fan that pumps about 2-3 times as much per minute.

Check out here last week they had NEW 400watt HPS with large adjusta shade (good shades) for $160 id imagine they are the same price this week....

Pick up a few metres of panda film aswel and line the walls and shit of your cupboard and becuase you are growing in soil you should make a floor outta panda film and make the sides on it come up about 10cm or so and secure them... This way u can spill water all over the floor in your cupboard without fucking it up.

Sorry if this shit is a bit unclear im fucken tired....

About strains mate id email mjoz and ask them for a nice easy growing strain that yields nice... don't worry about potency coz all there strains are pretty nice

Best of luck

BTW i have a tutorial i made when setting up a mates cupboard i might finish it off if and post it up sometime today or tommorw for ya

One other thing mate have u thought about the smell that BWG is a fucking stinker try get something like the northern lights 2 maybe coz its a low odour strain but i am not sure how easy it is to grow.

infa i just sold a 400hps on ebay for $51 only 4 months use...... i have to many lights

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...MESSO%3AIT&rd=1

not one thing wrong with it the dude that brought it was very happy i never used it this is just one of many exampls that u can find a genuine second hand light for cheap i wouldnt recommend a 400watter as a first light altho all hydro shops will con u into buying one of these...... as they are cheaper i would say go with a 250 watter or expect heat issues over the 8+ years ive been growing ive seen heaps of people buy 400watters and 600watter and try to manage the heat i just stand back and say i told u so.... when setting up take into account you will be growing in summer! dont think cause we are going into colder weather you'll be fine cause what u wanna do is set up your set up and leave it it is so much of a pain in the ass once its set up and weather changes and u have to rearange fans, lights etc to adjust the weather i just had to replace my 4 PC fans with a bathroom fan what a fuckin pain in the ass that was! and still this 200mm fan cannot suck and blow which left me screwd again ;) take all this into account

theres no 450w lamps, just 400w's, some of the 400w's are 430w but still called 400w, anyway no I very much doubt you'll get between 5-10 oz per plant, especially from seed on first grow, I run 2 400w lights and only get 20-25oz on average. And that with 8 plants, last 2 crops I been growing 6 and yields are less again like 20oz, but smaller yielding strains. When you've got clones going and a bit of experience you can expect 3-5oz per plant, strain dependant. with a 4 plant per 400w ratio.

1 x 400w fits in an area 1m x 1m, so 2 400w fit an area 2m x 1m.

Unless you need your crop to be stealth or private, you are better off building a decent sized box than growing in a small wardrobe/cupborad, or even hanging your light from roof and growing plants under it with no cupboard IMO. Still need fans though.

As pipeman has said plants can finish at almost any size, you could grow one plant under 4 1000w lights and get 100ounces off the plant, but it would take a whole year or so to grow the plant, at the same time you can grow 100plants under the 4 1000w lights and yield 150 ounces 3 or 4 times a year, all depends on the veg cycle.
