good movies to watch when stoned

Hi Everyone,

How could Philip K Dick get mentioned without mentioning the movie based on his short story "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" ...and that movie is Blade Runner with Harrison Ford. Great flick. (and that's putting it mildly)

 

Repo Man of course, about a pumk rocker who gets tricked into being a repo man and ends up chasing a 1964 chevvy malibu with two dead aliens in the trunk. My favorite repoman line "I'm glad I tortured you"

 

Nobody mentioned 2001 Space Odyssey and 2010 is pretty good too. Saw 2001 when it first came out (stoned on acid) at a widescreen 70mm theater. Fairly hair raising.

 

I agree on clerks and Scanner Darkly but if your squeamish about bugs, you won't like the opening scene.

 

Altered States is another old but trippy flick about a scientist who de-evolved into a proto human while using phychedelics in a floatation tank. A classic stoner movie. William Hurt and Blair Brown.

 

I like Tarintino flixs but not when I'm loaded. Ther violence is jarring to me.

 

That comedy with Dennis Quaid as a scientist who gets shrunk into a craft that's used to explore the inside of the human body. He accidently gets injected into the body of a store clerk (Martin Short). Lots of physical comedy. Short is amazing.

 

I like the Year of Living Dangerously and anything by your countryman Peter Wier. I saw the Wave about aboriginal mythology when it first came out. Filmed in Sydney I believe

I just watched one called "Brick" .. It was quite good .. I'd recommend it .. you'd probabably like this film if you enjoyed films like ... hmmm , dunno actually .. maybe "Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels" .. abit Tarentino-ish.

 

Also saw "Crank" the other day and that was a bit of fun :).

 

I've lost count of all the DVDs I've seen in the last couple of weeks but here are some I enjoyed ..

 

Transformers - I missed this on the Big screen but enjoyed it immensely , awesome effects and funny too.

 

Pirates of the carribean 3 - Awesome Trilogy .. plenty of enjoyment to be had , especially when stoned ofc.

 

Other good trilogies to watch stoned would be Back to the Future (I never seem to get sick of them) , Indiana Jones , The Matrix , X-Men , Terminator (the 3rd one was o.k.) , Star Wars (2 trilogies ..) , and probably many that escape me for now.

 

"A Scanner Darkly" is great and Is done by the same guy who did "Waking Life" .. awesome flicks .. and Donnie Darko and Fear and Loathing definatly make up my top 10.

 

And i finally got to see Snakes on a Plane .. hahahah :) .. hillarious .. best line ever "I'm sick of these mutherfuckin snakes on this mutherfuckin plane!!!" :scratchin:

 

Anyway I could ramble on forever about movies , but I should probably be doing something better (?) with my time on New Years Eve .. meh. :smoke:
