6500-7k CFL's

Been looking for some 6700k or so CFL's everywhere, bunnings dont have em, few lighting shops etc....

 

 

Would anyone knoe where to pick them up or somewhere I could order them online?

Yeah mate. Go to just about ANY woolworths, coles, whatevs, and look hard. They might not have a * rating on them, i think 6500+ is considered "cool white" but don't quote me on that.

 

I had to look at just about every bulb in the local BigW for mine.

 

They come in a max of 23 Watts for home style lighting, you'd need Bunnings, eBay, or some other specialised store for the higher wattages.

Yeah I went to bunnings earlier today and the best they had was 5000k, which isnt bright enough I dont think, but this is my first time so not sure.

The Kelvin rating doesn't describe 'brightness', it describes colour temperature ie. the higher K rating the cooler the colour. That said, I started out with a couple of 5000K, 48W globes from Bunnings and they worked fine for raising seedlings and clones.

If I had to recommend a spectrum for seedlings/ clones, I'd go with the 2700* bulbs, They help the plants to throw roots - don't ask for proof, it's just some shit I read somewhere one time.

 

In terms of "brightness" You're looking for the higher wattage bulbs. Don't buy 3 watters or somethin like that.
