URGENT-i just smoked aphid spray

Recommended Posts

reshroomed, i did a first aid cert in the last 6 months, we were told if you ingest poison reguardless with it has been swallowed, smoked, inhaled, has gone through skin, ass, eyes etc, you should call poisons imformation straight way.

unless you are a doctor or ambo you should not give unhealthy advice where poisons are concerned. some poisons don't even have negative effects for several years.

also the toxicity levels are being re-evaluated all the time.

years ago a chemicle called endosulphin was reguarded as pretty much safe. it was mainly used in the cotton industry. because it was reguarded safe at the time, the farmers would quite happily go and work in the farm pretty much straigfht after spraying, this was the done thing.

now, with todays technology, we now know that endosulphin has a minimum with holding peiod of 1 week. and is a main cause of cancer when you are overexposed to it. you now have to have a permit to buy it. i think it's also been upgraded to an s10 or something. very poisonous.

i used it about 10 years ago and it was rated an s7.

my advice in reguard to any poisons to put your safety first.

wear gloves when handling chems. it is quite easy to rub you eyes or scratch ya balls without giving reguard to the chems on your hands.easily absorbed through orifices.

wear safety goggles. your brain is behind your eyes.can absorb chems

be awre of the possibe dangers and toxicity of the chem you're using.

try and mix chems in a well ventilated area. possibe fumes

i know i've been rambling but safety is always number 1 priority with me.

cheers

wade

I have checked a can of a cheaper brand aphid spray (natural pyrethrum) and the warnings aren't all that cheerful but the withholding period is only one day, the warnings mainly deal with direct inhalation and contact.

The poisons information line would have information of use, they keep this sort of information for those dealing with victims of chemical fires.

Sorry i havent replied sooner.

Well i feel like a real dillpickle for smoking that!I am ok now but yesterday i really thought, this is it.I had two small cones of that (crapy leaf,i never smoke it i was just out of nugs)and it was the worst smoke iv ever tasted so lucky i stoped there.

Wade ounce,im so glad you responded so quickly(6 minutes)cause i was just thinking it will be ok.I took your advise and rand poisons and they could not tell me much than if i feel sick to go to emergency right away.

I was at my mothers so i called my dad to come pick me up(he got there in about 3 min from ruffly about 8 k`s away, then we had to travle another 10k`s to emergency.Any way my heart rate was well over 100(cant remember axactly)

and my blood pressure was 180/100 and something.

They said that is was most likely an allergic reaction and i should be fine, but stupid me thought different and that caused me to panic.

Well after a while it was coming down cause i was thinking happy thoughts and dad said heart/blood was coming down.Abbout 20 min later i got all cold, started shivering and i guess that made me panic again and they went up again. The nice doc gave me valium to settle me down and it worked wonders.

So at about 9:45 i was able to leave. They aphid spray doesent have a brand name but is a 400g natural pyrethrum insect spray can with 0.25/kg pyrethrins

and 1/kg piperonyl butoxide. It says "do not pick edible crops for one day after application.

But the thing is that i had to rip these up after fearing that some nutty lady that iv been in an argument with was going to get me busted. So when they got dried up i thought"why not,i got nothing else to smoke" but i forgot all about the aphid spray on it,so dont think that is was my intention to smoke cannabis with aphid spray.

Im actually realy PARANOID now that if i smoke some bought cannabis that i might have some chemical over it,because i really dont want to go through that again.

And now im scared thatt if i spray aphid spray on a MJ plant especially when flowering that it will go through the plant and do it again.

Thanks heaps to all the quick replies it was terrific to see that so many of you people cared.Well that said i might go and have a billy!!!

Keep safe and dont be a shat and smoke aphid spray like someone i know did!

Glad to hear your OK sniper. Sometimes the best lessons are those learnt hardest.

Wade - did you actually read my post?

What part was "unhealthy advice?

I hold a current level 3 St John's ticket (an employment requirement) that is renewed yearly. This LEGALLY allows me to manage a workplace first-aid centre and treat any accident victim till ambo's etc arrive. The advice that I gave is the best course of action in that situation. Since you disagree, please enlighten me as to some "healthy" advice.

man anyone with a current first aid cert' is required by law to treat the accident victum until ambos get there.

Don't bother with poisons information, they are very unlikely to have information on the effects of smoking aphid spray, as few people have ever done it, so they'll tell you to go to the hospital anyway.

they may not have the imformation but they can tell you whether or not you should go to the hopital. why would they have poisons imformation if it wasn't meant to be used before rushing off to hospital, and they may have some suggestion for immediate treating, example induce vomiting, drink or not drink milk or water. whether it is likely to be a serious enough incident to require ambulance transportation or whether you can be driven by a friend or someone. even it's it's just to reassure the victum to stop them from panicing and going into shock.

has this enlightened you at all?

Yeah, good to hear you're feeling better man. Pyrethrum is relatively harmless to humans, you have to consume a fair amount of it to get a toxic effect in humans. It's a natural insecticide which is produced by certain species of crysanthemum, particularly the Pyrethrum plant.

Anyway, the best way to ensure that the smoke you stick in your bong/joint/whatever is safe, is to grow it yourself. That way you're absolutely sure about what's gone into it. :) :P There are many safe and effective ways of keeping insect pest populations down, and through these you can be sure that you'll be smoking bud, only bud, and nothing but the bud. Most commercial growers could give a rat's arse if it's going to kill their customers in the next 50 years through slow poisoning via toxic pesticides.... as a homegrower, you can be sure that what you're growing is safe for human consumption. ;)
