scored a bargain...i think.

Recommended Posts

so wezz, even though i'd be better with a cf,seeing as they are only 5 bucks,do you think i'd have a better strike rate with another one or two 4fters in the box? just trying to save a few pennies is all :P

cheers man

p.s i was going to use an old wooden crate for a clone box.it's pretty well sealed with a door. it would fit the light or lights perfectly, do you think this would work.

would it need better air flow?

would i take the plastc domes off that cover each clone.

sorry for all the questions man just want to get it right.

for sure..You will need a couple more soon enuff but to get them started one should work. Just make sure you add to it.

Flouro's are ok but you do need a few to get enough light, but having said that, and I think some one already said this, when your striking you don't have to have a heap of light first up anyway.

If you put them in now under a flouro, try to buy another one in a week or so and keep building the lights up as you can afford it (and as the plant needs more)

At least with the 4 footers, you will have them when the plant gets big (if you plan on going all the way with them).

..Have you seen this thread? It's a good one for people using Flouro's...

for light fittings go to 2nd hand stores and pick up lamps for 2 to 5 dollars, the best ones are the ones with the porcelain base, then smash all the procelain off and hangf them up, and connect them all to powerboards, costs heaps less than setting up proper fittings.

I got a seed sexing area, 60cm x 40cm with 4 22w cool white and 2 18w warm light bulbs, pisses all over tubes, I used to use 4 2ft tubes in the same space but these shit over them.

hey cheers fellows'

o.k next dumb question,

as far as wattage goes with c.f's

what is the best for cloning?

should i get the highest wattage i can.

cool light is the best isn,t it for cloning?

there seems to be plenty of imfo on c.f's as far as veging and seed rasing, and people having success cloning with them, but i'm having trouble finding specifics on them as far as cloning goes. if you's know what i mean.

annoying son of a bitch aint i?

cheers

wade

You need minimal light for clones. I use 1x48W CF and have a light below the clone chamber so it heats up the root area for the clone/seedling chamber. I use a small esky, with a cutlery tray in it to act as drainage, and I put a fishtank on it upside down [all parts from home - heh] when cloning. Im goin g to eventually make a flood and drain out of the esky and a small tub [just like my flower chamber] so I dont have to hand water later on.

Wade..go for the highest wattage available...'cause it's much the same price anyway.....Put them close to your plant/s like 1 to 2 inches

Thats pretty much excacly what I did...I did buy a couple of fittings though 'cause couldn't get enough cheap lamps.. lol

But 2 or 3 cool to 1 warm warm will give you a good light spectrom cover and don't forget some reflector stuff behind them!!...I just hang mine straight down so they surround the plan with one above it.

A cheap place for that reflecting plastic stuff (mylar or something?) is the inside of big chip packets..haha....but foil is ok with cf's 'cause they don't put out much heat.

If you want any more specifics give me a pm and I'll try and answer them.

But, one impotant thing when propagating from seeds or cuttings is to use a very simple soil...In the nursery we used to alway's use coarse river sand for cuttings (cleaned up properely obviously) you don't want to have any ferts when you first start so that the roots need to look for food.
